Can anyone post this? You have to be an "Insider" to view the chat now that it is over. Thanks in advance!
Hope I don't get in trouble for this! Mike Withers (Oceanside CA): What round will you knock Jermain out? This content is protected Kelly Pavlik: I don't really predict a particular round. When the knockout comes it comes. We've just been training for that. We'll see if it happens again. Chris (Appleton, WI): How has your training routine changed for this fight compared to the first fight? This content is protected Kelly Pavlik: It hasn't really. We've started a little bit earlier, but we trained like crazy in the first fight. Jeff (New Orleans): Harder Puncher, Miranda or Taylor? This content is protected Kelly Pavlik: Miranda. Taylor is strong, but Miranda has more power with his punches. David (Old Bridge, NJ): Mr. Pavlik, Do you think the move up in weight for this fight helps you or Jermain more ? This content is protected Kelly Pavlik: I think it benefits me more, definitely. Dave: Youngstown, OH.: Kelly, how important do you think it will be to try to change the tempo of this fight compared to the last meeting? Will the plan of attack be a significant change or will it be similar? This content is protected Kelly Pavlik: I think it'll be similar. We'll try to back him up. Dan Jackson: After you beat taylor, would you be interested in fighting the winner of hopkins calzage? This content is protected Kelly Pavlik: Definitely. Calzaghe and Hopkins are both great fighters, so it would be something that I would look forward to. JR (Chicago, IL): Were you surprised by the wide disparity in the scorecards in the previous fight? I thought the fight was really close-- only because of the 10-8 or 10-7 second round--but the judges seemed to think Taylor was in control. This content is protected Kelly Pavlik: I was. I'm a picky fighter and if I go back and watch a round, I'll give it to the other guy if it's close, but I don't see how the judges scored it as they did. I gave him the second and fifth rounds. Gerardo, Chicago, IL: Saw pictures of you training and your hands seem ok. Any problems with them after your accident at home? This content is protected Kelly Pavlik: No, no problems at all. There was only a week in which I was out, and that was over two months ago. Jason (DE): What's your biggest weakness as a fighter? In your opinion? This content is protected Kelly Pavlik: I tend to lower my left hand, so I have to work harder on keeping it up. Zo (AZ): how long do you plan to stay in the middleweight division before moving up to Super Middleweight? Also, do you see yourself ever going up to light heavy? This content is protected Kelly Pavlik: I've fought a couple of fights at middleweight, and it's harder and harder to make weight. Hopkins and Calzaghe are up there, so it could be a stop at the end of my career. Matt (portland, OR): Hey Kelly huge fan, how much did the crowd support during the last fight help you? It seemed like 3/4 of the crowd was from Ohio. Good luck on the 16th! This content is protected Kelly Pavlik: It was huge. To get that support makes a big difference. It was a big help. Zo (AZ): A lot of fighters tend to watch much film, but rather leave it to their trainer. It seems that you on the other hand, do watch a lot of film. Do you see that as an advantage? This content is protected Kelly Pavlik: I do watch, but I usually just watch parts of the beginning, end, and middle, for mistakes. Most of it, I leave to the trainer so we can pick it apart in training. Chris (Appleton, WI): Which boxer (past or present) do you admire the most? This content is protected Kelly Pavlik: There aren't many that I sat there and admired specifically. You have to give Sugar Ray Leonard credit for what he accomplished. Rocky Marciano was a bull. JR (Chicago, IL): How important is it for you to establish your jab again, especially since Taylor hardly ever keeps his hands up? This content is protected Kelly Pavlik: It's very important. You keep the jabs coming, and the right hand behind it all day long, and he becomes a target for it. Brian (Anaheim, CA): Other than yourself, who do you consider the top P4P guys? This content is protected Kelly Pavlik: Definitely have to go with Mayweather. Cotto is walking through guys out there. That'd be my top-2 that are solid. This content is protected Kelly Pavlik: Thanks everyone!
Thats fine with me. He can stay "stupid", if thats what your referring, as long as he keeps KO'ing everyone.
Thanks for sharing, does anyone have a link to the ESPN Chat with Jermain Taylor, i think there was one with him aswell.
Typical Pav licks trash!!!! SWEET JESUS JERMAINE GOING TO WORK HIM!!!! He's going to fight fellow circus actor John the DUD in June with his belts but not his "0".
Here's Jermain's: antione atlanta,GA: Jermain do you think it will serve you better to go to the body against Pavlik to take some of his steam away from his punches etc? This content is protected Jermain Taylor: I think it will serve me well. He is a big guy, and has a lot of body to hit, and if I take his body away that will help. UB/ Michigan: Is Pavlik the Hardest puncher you have ever been in the ring with ? This content is protected Jermain Taylor: No. He is more of a consistent puncher, but not a hard puncher. Her is a strong fighter, but he is not the strongest puncher I have faced. David (Old Bridge, NJ): If you beat Pavlik in the rematch, who would you like to fight next ? This content is protected Jermain Taylor: Anybody. It does not make a difference. I have to focus on Pavlick first though. But I will fight anyone. I never ran from anyone and I am not going to start now. David (Old Bridge, NJ): Mr. Taylor, Do you think that if your first fight was at 166 pounds, Pavlik wouldn't have gotten up when you knocked him down early ? Best of luck on the 16th. This content is protected Jermain Taylor: I am not sure. If I threw some smarter punches I think I could have knocked him out, but I do not think weight had anything to do with it. Thanks for the support. Kyle (Indianapolis): Who you rooting for in the Super Bowl? Go Giants!!! This content is protected Jermain Taylor: I don't watch too many sports on TV Court (Little Rock): The last few months, a lot of writers have said that you don't love boxing, and it hurts you as a fighter. How would you respond? This content is protected Jermain Taylor: Boxing is a sport that I do. It is my job. I go in there and work hard every day. It is how I feed my family. So who cares if I love it or not. josh Pennsylvania: Do you study your opponets weaknesses while training for the fight? If so what are some of pavliks weaknesses that you have noticed? This content is protected Jermain Taylor: I never really watch tapes, but he gets hit a lot. So I would say his weakness is he is easy to hit. Chris (Appleton, WI): Did you have trouble making 160 lbs. for the first fight with Pavlik? This content is protected Jermain Taylor: I has a little trouble, but not too much. I ahd to do a little running. But it was not too hard. Kyle (Indianapolis): How important is it to you to make the Hall of Fame, which I believe you are capable of doing? This content is protected Jermain Taylor: It is not important to me at all. I did not grow up in boxing, so it is not important to me. What is most important to me is to win every fight by any means. Matt (Wynnewood, PA): WHo is the best boxer you have ever faced? This content is protected Jermain Taylor: That is hard to say. everyone has their own little thing that they do that makes them unique whjen you fight them. Every opponent that I have fought was always very good, so I really cannot say. That is a hard question. Josh-Indy: Jermain, how has the trainer switch changed things? Why do you think you and Manny didn't click? This content is protected Jermain Taylor: I would not say that we did not click, because we had a great relationship and we still do. It was just time for a change. Things just were not going right. I just figured I would take it back to how I used to do it. Matt (Wynnewood, PA): When did you start to box? This content is protected Jermain Taylor: I started boxing at the age of 12. Eric (Tampa, FL): Hey J.T. - you've had a bad tendancy of dropping your left arm during your fights and that was clearly exposed by K.P. Is that something you've been working on during your training? This content is protected Jermain Taylor: I have been working on a lot of different things, and I have been working on keeping that arm up, and I think it will show in the fight. In the first few rounds I keep the arm up well, but then, in the later rounds, it starts to drop. But I feel like I am in the best shape of my life and I feel like I will be able to keep the arm up for much longer as a result. This content is protected Jermain Taylor: To all my fans I am sorry I let you down last fight. But I am back on track now, and I promise you a different ending!
"Taylor is strong, but Miranda has more power with his punches." Yeah right Smelly, then please explain why his punches had you doing the watoosy in the second round!!!!
