Do you think Wlad will throw his IBF belt in the bin rather than face Thompson again?

Tbh I think this is a strong possibility, especially with the Mormeck fight being put off by another 3 months. K2 have been talking about taking on a big name in American for an upcoming fight for quite some time now and I don't think they can sell Thompson as that. Possibly they could have if Thompson vs Chambers had of happened with the winner being a worthy challenger. But Thompson just getting a free shot is going to be a very hard sell if you ask me. Does Wlad really care about paying a sanctioning fee to the IBF for this fight when he has so many belts anyway? I'm not sure.

I suppose the big danger of Wlad going through with this is that with an American finally grabbing a belt again more than likely you will never see that belt used for unifying again, instead being used for second rate Americans fighting for the title every six months.

The Klitschkos have only just picked up every major belt in the heavyweight division and you think they will give it away after about 6months? Struggle to see the logic here but if Wlad does, then fair play to you.

I think he holds it or pays Thompson step aside $$$ for Potvetkin or Helenius/Dimitrenko.

Wlad's goal is to be undisputed when Vitali steps away in 2013, and until that happens he aint dropping ****.:deal

I think that's not very likely. Wlad worked too hard to get these belts. Even though the IBF is a bunch of idiots I think Wlad will defend against Thompson.

Bernd Boente hinted at this happening not long after the Haye fight. He said Haye will probably come out of retirement to fight for a belt that was dropped.

Agreed. Having all the belts is important to the Klits. Wlad will knock Thompson out again, get a payday, and keep his belt.

I can't see him letting go of any belts at this point...

But I wish he would have just scrapped the pointless Mormek fight and fullfilled his mandatory vs Thompson right away.

I just don't see him doing it. Although I'd much prefer him to fight someone else. But this should be Thompson's last go around so give they guy the shot. He at least made the first fight closer then any other of Wlads other Wlad fights. Although that's not saying much as the others were complete shutouts.

It doesn't matter very much. Belts are not as meaningful as they once were.

But I suppose he should fight Thompson and keep the belt. He should try to have at least three fights this year.
