Ward is More Complete than Pacquiao

Pacquiao fights like a boss going backwards. He's better going backwards than forwards these days.

Pac is more complete. Better chin, more power, more stamina, offensive skills, can counter, great combos...

Ward lacks power, has good stamina but not like Pac. Has good offense but can't throw the combos Pac can throw. Ward can't let his hands go like Pac can. Ward has better D than Pac tho. Ward's chin seems quite average though I wouldn't call it weak.

From a purely technical standpoint, you could make a case either way.

Pac can fight going backwards. He can't fight going forwards anymore. Ward is more complete but Pac much more talented.

 

Pacman and Ward's resume of who they beat and when they beat them are both suspect. Ward beat Abraham after he'd been thoroughly embarrassed twice(Dirrell beat him worse than Ward did). Even his latest fight vs. Froch was 34 year old man who fought Taylor, Kessler, Dirrell and lost the majority of those rounds. Froch even had a limited guy like Pascal catching him with bombs. Pacman lost to Marquez at least once in many opinions and looked dominant offensively against Barrera, Morales, Cotto, and Margarito but all those guys were coming off hard fights and he lost to Morales. I think Pacquaio's technical ability is getting slightly underrated here on these boards since the Marquez fight. Marquez is an elite level technician, and Pacquaio and him had close fights. For me the reason why Mayweather beats Pacquaio, is because he is as skilled as Marquez, but (and this is why he shut out JMM so convincingly) Mayweather has better athletic ability such as speed, strength and reflexes, he's also naturally bigger.

 

So? Pac is still better than Andre will ever be...and i love Andre.

umm why would that be up for debate, pacman is fast and strong wild. ward is the best boxer next to mayweather. hes got speed and maybe above average power and the rest is his brains and skill set. hes not as giv=fted as manny in the physical department hell i dont know who is. but when its time to box very few can do it better then ward,

 

My take on this as well. Pacquiao's proven his ability against far superior opposition at this point. People want to criticize Pacquiao's opponents, despite his amazing performances, but Kessler, Froch, Abraham, and Bika aren't exactly murderer's row. You could make the case that Miguel Cotto is better than all of them, let alone somebody like Barrera.
