Pac's so-called inability to cutoff the ring stems more from his darting in-and-out style rather than not actually knowing how. It's a catch-22 when he campaigns at welter. Pac uses that quick burst to get inside someones jab (everyone has a reach advantage over Pac). Pac doesn't have the luxury of just walking down bigger longer guys who can pick him off from distance. That said, his ability to cut off the ring is diminished when applying these kinds of movements. You have less ability to change direction when you're in these quick "darting" motion. Again if given a sound tactical opportunity to cutoff the ring e.g guys his own size like MAB, EM, JMM...he has obviously shown he could.
