Yeah, it was confirmed by the Shogun camp, so that was a whole lot of pointless writing.

On a side note, I can't believe they allowed stomps and soccer kicks in Pride. Strikes that can definitely cripple someone.

Shogun is terrible every time he has knee problems, the guy is never going to have an amazing career because he is always going to have that knee problem.

It's a miracle when an a mma fighter stays competitive for more than 6 years because of injury, Shogun has had a good run but will always train and fight with a weakness.

Shogun himself has repeatedly claimed that the knee ****ed him up from the start in that fight. Is he lying?

Oh wait, I just remembered that you didn't believe that Shogun had surgery 8 weeks out from the second Machida fight even after I posted a video of Shogun and his team confirming the story in a post-fight interview. Never mind.

Right because Jones completely gasses 3-6 minutes into every fight like the LHW version of Overeem did and "PRIDE Shogun" would have been able to do what several fighters with much better defensive wrestling haven't been able to, namely, stuff Jones' takedowns.

You know what, I'm done arguing with Shogun fans. They're by far the most delusional fanbase in MMA and possibly all of combat sports.

Shogun was so out of it that after a brief grapple he blocks a follow up strike.

When the opening bell rang Shogun was convinced he was the better striker. He probably trained to stand in a stance built for stuffing takedowns. Within a few seconds of the opening bell he got caught with an unexpected flying knee to the face, the first strike in the fight from a 24 year old challenger that Shogun probably thought would freeze on the big stage and be intimidated by Shoguns experience. It was basically an audacious ***** slap. If you think that that knee had no effect on the fight then you truly are some kind of ******.

Yeah because Shogun has never been caught out by a big strike and then fought hard until the end.

Shogun lost, the striking was better than expected and then wrestling ****ed him but the guy gassed QUICK. Elite fighters shouldn't gas in 1 round, no matter how hard the fight is and definitely if they aren't heavyweights.

Rightly or wrongly the guy is injured alot and has clearly come in to a number of fights out of shape.

He tapped. Gassed fighters usually give up their back and get subbed or cover up until the ref stops it. Shogun was hurt, real bad. An 'in shape' Shogun would still have been hurt, real bad. Jones is just better than him.

Jones is better but a tap when you are a premier striker is questionable to say the least. It has tainted the image but the Hendo fight helped to bring it back again.

I`d need to see Rua convincingly beat a guy like Dan Henderson thru 4 or 5 hard paced rounds without looking gassed to convince me he is ready to beat Jones.... if he can reach that level cardio & sharpness wise then he could be the guy to chop Jones down.
