C'mon Tyson ofcourse, when his opponent is hurt, have you ever saw him not finish them off? Or wouldn't they **** their pants 'cause how scary Tyson was?
If you're already hurt, neither of those attributes matters nearly so much as the opponent's disposition - and neither one really any more than the other. Their disposition is really all that matters at that point. Is it a ferocious savage with a sanguine thirst to commit fist ****? Is it a "Oh look, I've got somebody hurt. La de da. I guess I'll hang back and throw some jabs until he clinches...unless he doesn't come forward, in which case whatever... let him run if he wants..." type? Really the matter of whether they're more a fast foe or a powerful one is trifling in that scenario. Honestly, if they're slow but powerful - they were still fast enough to hurt you. If fast but feather fisted - they had enough pop to hurt you. Bottom line is you're hurt. Therefore you are vulnerable (so long as they have a vicious/finisher's disposition and/or are not themselves punched out). Period.
Finishers like Tyson, Leonard, Louis. Then again, if you have a lot of heart, maybe it's worse to go in there with a guy who isn't a great or quick finisher, and will punish you for longer. Look at Chavez when he was feeling extra sadistic (Haugen). He prolonged the beating. Going with simply speed or power is broad, but I guess speed is worse since the question already pretty much indicates the guy has the power to hurt you.
A guy with power. I believe that speed is often better at hurting an opponents t than power because it is the punch that yo don't see that hurts you. But if you are already hurt.. well then you won't see much and then power triumphs.
... nothing conclusive. LOL... it is a tough question now isn't it? But I was watching the Ray Leonard (funny his name came up) vs. Macho Man and Macho Man finished him with speed... caught him off guard the first time with a speedy uppercut too. You see, people think that because you hit a guy and he goes down, that it MUST be an all power shot. No, sometimes a guy goes down because you catch him off guard. And, with power, not all the time a guy with power has the speed to catch you in the same spot twice. For example, lightening hardly hits the same place twice. To me, I would rather be in there with a guy who has good power over good speed if I'm hurt. I can slip the punches and roll as it comes along if he is a slow, powerful slugger... but if the punches are coming fast and furious, then you are going to be blinded with dozzens of pepper shots that can REALLY damage. Sorta like the late hit in football. It may not be hard, but you didn't see it and prepare for it is what really hurts ya...
Someone mentioned disposition and they are absolutely right. Frankly the question is flawed to the extent that if you are hurt in the ring then it's clearly because your opponent has enough power to cause damage in the first place. But to answer the question: Speed. Again, if you are hurt, it's because your opponent clearly has enough power to hurt you and when you're hurt your reflexes aren't exactly sharp a speedy fighter can cause a mercy stoppage simply by unloading.
Really depends on the particular fighter but of the 2 I`d say speed is the worst because if its slow enough you can still avoid the punches enough until your head clears but vs speed, not so much.
