The content should be securing every single hardcore boxing fan. Big international fights like Klitchsko and better names should secure some mainstream fans. It is achievable but the approach is ALL wrong and quite shocking. I'm sure the people involved think the fans don't understand boxing or business.
i think Box Nation is doing ok , must be hard to get such a thing off the ground, and cant complain about it at the moment, it is Jauary after all, it is well worth a tenner
1 shite month compared to the 3 months we didn't have to pay for come on guys:grouphuggive them a chance
Tenner isnt a big expense, but through previous experiences and other channels that dont work or havent worked, Id rather save it until the channel delivers and also isnt reliant on my subscription to fund the channel. Get the channel sorted then start charging punters a subscription, not the other way round.
I'm moaning but I'm looking at it like an investment. In 5 months I can cut my losses if it is that catastrophic.
exactly, could take time to get great but at least they are doing it, and £10 a month is veryyyy cheap
Problem is, is that sky are a load of ****. Maybe it's OK if you subscribe for the football or whatever. But just on boxing, it really isn't that good. What do they spend on football? Hundreds of millions? And what do they spend getting international fights?
I think that's the point though you pay sky for 3 channels and a mulitude of different sports, part of that is boxing and yes its not the main sport because it doesnt have the same fan base as football. its also in HD and now 3D. Boxnation is trying to create a boxing only channel, sounds great but there arent enough people in the UK who will fork out to pay just for a boxing channel, the casual fan inst really interested in the International ones unless they are big fights. I would say I was a bit above the casual fan, I like to keep up to date with the domestic scene, I read Boxing Monthly, the next few weeks of International fights on boxnation, Im not interested in, I dont even know who they are.
:deal Think any channel showing just one sport on a monthly subscription basis is always going to struggle. Remember years ago there football channel that was run in a similar way (think it was Premiership Plus, could be wrong though), eventually failed as a result of not enough subscriptions/ people paying for matches. If a football channel doesn't work, a boxing channel is always going to find it tough as there isn't enough casual fans willing to a pay an extra £10 per month.
