i don't really understand really jock-speak, and the lack of punctuation certainly doesn't help:roll: but I think you are questioning the Upton Park attendance? Well i was in the Bobby Moore stand for the Katsidis fight. It was packed and has a 9000 capacity. the 2 side stands (combined capacity 20,000) were about a quarter to a third full (due to position of ring) so est. 6000, plus all those who were sat at pitch level. All in all probably as near as damnit - 17,000. Airdrie, on the other hand, even if it were possible to use the full capacity holds barely over half that. Still would be more than big enough for Burns platoon of fans:good perhaps I could suggest clydebank which has a covered capacity of 200, for Ricky's forthcoming 'world-title- defence- that's- got -the- boxing --world talking' against Odowele 'Afrobum' Adewole?:thumbsup
I don't know if you've understood my post or not, so I'll just write it again verbatim; I'd agree he is a better puncher than his record suggests, but definately not heavy handed, he seemed to hurt Kats from time to time to the body as well which is where I think he'd find success against Kevin. Burns has got a good engine too, so coupled in with his body work early on could wear Kev down by the 9th/10th and force the stoppage :good
I agree with the challenger should come to the champion, but you gotta think about the fans. Who the ****, and I'm serious here. Who the **** wants to travel to Airdrie in Scotland to watch boxing??? You'll sell a lot more tickets in London. Fair enough the Scottish people have to travel further, but at least they're not going to some obscure place with nothing else to do. Like **** will anyone voluntarily go on a trip to Airdrie.
mitchell made a **** of it last time out at upton, come up here to scotland kevin.... its ricky's time right now and i don't see mitchell or crolla beating him.
Why are people obsessed with having boxing events out doors..? This should only be aloud in countrys with hot climates. You ****ing bell-ends.
Gotta agree, the show at West Ham was a eye sore one part of ground wasn't used, goals pugged up in corner. It wasn't a spectacle really... I've seen shows as a kid outdoors and it's pissed down, if your not gonna use a stadium with a closing roof don't bother.
Just had a quick look online. Andrie's last game at home was their biggest attendance of the season, with 1,5000 there. There average attendance this year is around the 700 mark. And Billy thinks they'll get 15,000 there for boxing?
A 15.000 indoor arena is all you need, the closer the people are to the action! the better the atmosphere, the better the event. These ******ed events set up in 50,000 capacity stadiums in the open air are ****ing ******ed. Its not football, the majority the nation..? don't care.
