i think there are a few types of quitting, some are ok, some define the word This content is protected after 11 rounds ....and being knocked down...NO SHAME in calling it a day... This content is protected Rahmans cut which barley bled didnt even try to go 1 whole round , saying he couldnt see.... similar to Nate Campbell, Devon Alexander who asked if they wanted to continue said NO...i cant see.... we are supposed to take their word on it, while people call Cotto a coward by not saying anything , no excuses, that he just couldnt go on
yeah amazing.... somehow cotto is a quitter....but what zab judah did against Khan people over look at his quit job, claiming well he was fouled
Arturo can you see, do you want to continue? **** YEAH , I"M FINE Rahman can you see , do you want to continue? No I cant see (give me my ****ing paycheck) This content is protected This content is protected
I agree with you.. You can't have the quit mentality in any sport.. But (as already mentioned) the officials of the corner should stop the fight, if it is necessary
I'm for a fighter doing his very best and thats all. If he feels hes in danger, Im for him calling it a night. There's no need for a fighter to get really hurt or get killed. It gives the sport another black eye..
Yes, it's okay. A lot of boxing fans seem to think that boxers should be risking their lives there for their entertainment, it's just a sport. IMO quitting is OK if you sustained a very bad beating and there's no chance for you to win.
depends on what kind of quitting cotto got beat down for 11 rounds, nose broken, orbital bone/jaw fractured and had nothing to give and gave up, that i'm ok with. on the other hand ortiz quitting a fight he was winning because it was a tough fight then going on to give the reason "i'm too young to be hit like this, i aint getting hit like this for nobody" is shameful
All of those who criticize 'quitters' are quick enough to point to warriors like Gatti never quitting but that's not YOU in their. With your life ahead of you and your family to leave behind, you wouldn't want to die in there or get seriously hurt.
Exactly. Maybe some fighters dont want to end up barely able to speak or control basic movements when they retire. Maybe some fighters dont have the want to die for our pure entertainment. That in no way makes them a coward, in fact Most of the people talking all that **** have never even been in a fight.
