[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IOq16ySkBc"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IOq16ySkBc[/ame] This really was a master class performance from Solis. Showing the concept of hit and not be hit to perfection. Such movement, such reflexes. I genuinely believe Solis with all of his attributes is the closet HW to Ali in terms of style we've ever seen. Such a pity since turning pro he has yet to fully commit himself to the sport. Does he not realise just how good he could be? He still has time to reach the top depending on his injury recovery. He has what it takes to dethrone Wladimir within 18 months and yet build a legacy for himself, but that only will be possible if Solis can get back to what he was and is well capable of doing. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IG0ADWFQnKs&feature=related"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IG0ADWFQnKs&feature=related[/ame] One of the few flashes of brilliance we've seen from Solis the pro despite still not being in the top shape he could be.
Solis was no higher than #8 going into the Vitali fight. Solis isn't top 10 now. Solis likely will never get back in the top 10 and no higher than the #8-ish he already was. Wake up guys, he ain't wearing headgear anymore.
as much as i like solis i understand he will never go back to that shape. but he still can beat anybody at HW except the klits brothers
KO1. Easiest opponent Vitali had in a decade. What a farce. Fan boys still can't get over it. "Solis was winning until he fell over and hurt himself" is easily the gayest thing written on this site. Winning, really? Well then after he hurt himself it should of gone to the cards. Right? Face it, for all his amateur pedigree and fantastic skillset Vitali worked him out in less than 3 minutes. All that bobbing, weaving, jumping around did nothing for him. In fact it actually ended up being his demise. Just a shame he has a glass temple because Vitali would of carried him another 8 or 9 rounds like usual. KO'd by an arm punch. He will never be a force. Maybe he should give Austin another fight without the bull**** DQ this time.
did somebody say anything in this thread about solis vs vitali? i've always said he lost. One way or another-he lost, period.Like Vitali lost to Bird.Period. and im sure he will never beat any Klits unless Vitali keeps fighting until very late or out of shape, neither he'll beat Wlad... u feel better now? ok go back to ur Klits bro poster and continue the worshiping.
Forgot to quote it last time round sorry. Wasn't directed at you as I remember your veiws on the subject after the fight, also I appoligise for the racist comment I directed at you a while back. I really dislike Solis. He is incredibly talented and is throwing it away. He doesn't even have to try as hard as other contenders, just get in better shape. Very frustrating.
i get frustrated with him as well. But keep in mind he doesnt have the same background other boxers from europe have.Discipline is a very serious issue with cuban defectors. They come to this country after living with many restrictions and limitations.Without their families and relatives or friends that really care about them. They come straight to the mouth of promoters and managers that will milk them to the last drop. They only bring their talent and hopes.I know Solis, he is a big nice guy,had he hooked with Pedro Luis from the beggining maybe things had turned better but he came from Germany already bloated and its almost impossible to get him down to 220-230 wich will be his ideal weight.Solis has skills and he isnt afraid to fight anybody. But thinking he can beat someone like vitali or wlad is not reasonable.Unless Vitali is 46 yrs old and out of shape.(at that point solis will be also older and most likely much fatter) I dont take offense for racial comments,i'm very confident on myself to diminish to that point. This is about boxing buddy,i enjoy boxing. And support my countrymen, in good or bad times.:goodNothing personal here
Stylistically the opening video was an awesome performance against Ibragimov. But he can't do the same tricks when he's so much heavier. He was trying to move around and use these skills against Vitali but he ended up blowing out his knee--he was too fat for his body. It would really take a miracle for Solis to get fit again but if he did he'd be a threat to anyone as his pro career showed he could still box even if fat.
