haha, it's not easy to KO someone when you can't turn your punches over due to the pain on your hands. Even (shot to ****) Roy didn't get rocked by Joe's power at that point! Still, Joe was able to beat Kessler and Hopkins with weak hands. As has been said, it's a shame Joe's prime was wasted.

Ottke was the IBF and WBA champ while Joe was defending the lowly WBO belt vs. their top contenders. Lacy picked up his belt once he retired.

Joe C wasn't the lineal 168 champ. Nope. And beatin Kessler doesn't exactly mean anything in the context of this thread. It was a good win, but Kessler was just a top contender. Guess what, Ottke beat a few of those as well.

They BOTH made their claim with 20+ title defenses. And since BOTH did it at the same time, pretty much waters down BOTH of their feats.

There cannot be two guys setting a record at the same time in the same division. that's bordering ridiculous.

Can you imagine if there was a WBO belt back in the day, and some HW defended it at the same time Joe Louis defended his world title? Would not be seen as the same today.

joe did the most at the division so you could say that. but ward could pass him up he has already fought the better comp then joe, which is very easy to do.only way joe keeps that claim is if ward leaves the divsion for 175 or a fe catch weight fights.

It was a safe place to stay, and they could milk his weak WBO belt like a mofo. Lets not foeget, his promoter was the Euro-Arum. Good business wise, had legacy wise.

In half the time it took Joe C. :deal

IMHO, Sticking with War.ren and the WBO was his biggest miskate.

I take your point, in this case I go to their records. I find Calzaghe to have beaten the better opposition across his 44 fight career at SMW than Ottke. That's where I base my argument. What do you think?

    thus winning 4 168 belts to ottke's 2?

    so he "achived" more? :deal

i will also add that he beat better opposition & did better against common opposition.

he "achieved" more in every real sense you look at it. :deal

By records you mean looking at Boxrec? :huh That's the worst way to evaluate a resume, just looking for recognizable names. Getting into the whole "who beat better" is a whole nother thread.

And for the record, I favor Joe C any day over Ottke. But Ottke's title defense runs is very close to Joe's. Can't deny that.

the thing is, with Joe C and Ottke's title defenses, both are watered down. It's like bragging about who ****ed the LEAST ugly women.

yeah. that has nothing to do with what i said.

clazaghe won 4 titles compared to ottke's 2 & achieved more at 168. can't deny that.

Another stupid statement from ESBs biggest ****wit :patsch. Dont worry twat, I will correct it for you and school you again
Similar to CW, but nobody has a problem rating Holyfield for beating LHWs at CW.
Jones went down and looked hurt against Del Valle.

Nunn and Toney were at SMW longer than they were at MW or LHW and Jones was at SMW longer than MW.

You are just hoping. I bet you are one of the ones who wants Ward to avoid Bute
