True, BigBopper. The guys who know Chris Martin, his trainer, are now happy with Tua in NZ. He's left a trail of burning bridges and debt in his wake. He has no promoter (CK), trainer (Chris Martin), conditioning coach (Lee Parore and others), or wife. He's pretty much by himself. He does have a gym, but I'm not sure who owns it. He owes his lawyers and the IRD (IRS), and who knows who else. A mess. A fight with Barrett will get him closer to being out of debt, as he has a cable company, SKY, who's willing to back him and act as his promoter. They do a good job. With Barrett II, counting PPV in NZ, he grossed about half a mil. But he's told some that he's retired. So who knows if Barrett III is on.
i agree with you 100%..but i just cant stand silly ****ers who think tua should be givin a title shot at this stage of his career considering he cant even get by barrett and had to accuse him of cheating to get a rematch with him..sad and pathetic..
:good I think the boat full of people thinking he should be given a shot at Wlad sailed a long time ago. Though he was undeservedly offered a shot at Wlad a year ago or so. He turned it down. Not enough money for him apparently. I can't remember the details but he was offered something like 400,000 euros.
helenius will only have a go at wlad when wlad looks as if hes ready to pass the torch..hes not good enough..he has a better chance with vitali because hes old as **** and likes to mix it up more
sounds like someone wants to see wlad vs tua be made.... it looks good on paper if you havent seen tua fight in a long time yet alone seen him....... i think its similar to everyone wanting to see Tyson vs Lewis , when Tyson was a shell and just a name by then....the results wont be much different...Wlad will stop Tua if the fight is made
OK Kushner says the figures are hypothetical but then says he wanted 2 mill and was offered 400. So I guess 250,000 could be right. That's an embarrassingly sad figure. Not sure why they would pay in usd either when their expenses are in euros. I don't really believe he was offered such **** money. My guess it was a fair offer for a faded Tua that hadn't done anything of note, and Kushner thought he was a player again and ****ed things up. http://www.boxing scene . com/tuas-promoter-says-lowball-offer-killed-klitschko-fight--31461
Actually Kushner says he never called them back. atsch ****ing ridiculous. It's not like he went back with a counter offer or anything. Must be a really intelligent guy :dead he promotes one fighter and doesn't return phone calls to fight the world heavyweight champ.
Yeah, he should have called Klit back, if only to keep good relations going for the future. Tua just outright dismissed the amount, saying it wouldn't cover expenses, so I guess CK said, why bother. Interestingly, CK is Barrett's promoter now, and is trying to line up a fight with Tua, who fired him.
