i vote bowe an he was more accomplihed of the two an possed most talent to waste sanders was agood journey man who capitalized on one of bigger oppurtunities presented to him but did next to nothing after that
Sanders. It's too bad he didn't care enough to stay in shape and train hard and truly commit to boxing. He could smash anyone in the first 3 rounds, but after that his shitty conditioning handcuffed him. If I were Sanders, I'd be kicking myself today for losing to Rahman. Had he got Rahman out of there, he would have got the shot at Lennox next. Imagine what his career could have been like if he had done to Lewis what he did to Wlad...
But he could have achieved so much more! Sanders was always a limited fighter and only hyped in recent years for his only accomplishment of note.
Bowe could have been an ATG. He was fantastic and really put it all to waste. Sanders had some really great physical gifts, but even if he was in shape, he wasn't the best fighter in the world.
i wouldn't quite consider bowe a waste but yeah he could have been one of the best hws of the generation although he would have lost to lewis it would have been close and i feel he would have beaten Tyson and any other top heavyweight of the era (except golota by the looks of it......who btw was a colossal waste of talent) definitely a what if? where there shouldn't be one
Bowe had an underratted career. Should have goten an idmitet remach with Holyfield and would have beaten Moorer. As well as anyone else inclluding Lewis up to 96 unless they hit him in the balls repeatedly (Glota).
tough question. bowe achieved a lot and his lack of achievements after about 28 were due a lot to being past prime by that point due to damage (but he allowed himself to suffer a lot of that damage from his reputed laziness between fights). Sanders was physically strong well into his 30's but simply didn't appeared to be 100% committed to the sport to achieve more. probably sanders cuz he achieved less and had more time to do so
Sanders. He definately could have done a lot more with his talent than what he did achieve. Bowe was unified champion, he reached the pinnacle of boxing with his talent. He didn't have a long reign or prime, but he wouldn't have had anyway with Lennox Lewis hitting his prime, Holyfield's PED-aided resurrection, Tyson coming back. It would have been tough for him to beat any of those guys had the Golota fights not happened and he fought on.
Bowe by far. Had a great jab even the Klitschkos would envy. Bowe wasn't the most disciplined fighter even in his short prime. If he trained half as Holyfield or Tyson Big Daddy could of achieved alot more. He shouldn't of struggled with Golota and would of been a nightmare for anyone.
Oh. That is a tough one. Bowe had his ridiculous 'world's shortest prime' as the only way to explain why he did so poorly against Golota and many others and why he on the other hand had some good fights with Evander. Personally I think that he had Evander's number while being bigger. He would have been smoked easily by Lewis. Sanders was hardly ever in shape and fought much like he was in a barroom fight. But he did have some intangibles of a very natural fighter.
