Relax, Mayweather is not going to fight Guerrero

    I agree with this. Canelo hasn't fought ANYONE of note to be considered a lottery winner for the FMJ sweepstakes. It should be Cotto. Hell, even Victor Ortiz rematch (yeah I can't believe I'm saying this) is a more legitimate opponent.

    My first thought (when Floyd asked the judge for the delayed jail sentence) was that Mayweather would fight Cotto on May 5.

    If so, then why not put out these false rumors to make it seem like Floyd "listened to the fans" and chose Cotto at the end of the day.?

    Or Alvarez, etc.

    Again, this is all public relations (PR) stuff. Common stuff. But it works, as you can see by the reaction. Everyone is talking about Floyd, etc.

    Maybe it will be Floyd-Guerrero. :hat

    I know, reminds me of when everyone went crazy because Mayweather was going to fight Spadafora... and then he was going to be fighting M.Hatton... he got called every name in the book because of these fights (that turned out to... not happen)

    people go crazy seeing a thread saying floyd vs guerrero is close to happening :lol: I highly, highly doubt floyd fights him....

    i wouldnt be surprised if the fight happened, i was hoping he was gonna fight cotto, but it was initially said he was looking to fight a mexican boxer on cinco de mayo, i just thought it was gonna be alvarez

    Michael Woods, Sweet Science, thinks the Ghost has a much better chance than Ortiz did.

    He may not have a fan base, but I think he poses more of challenge than Canelo.

    I agree though, after reading some of the posts that indicate it probably isn't real.
    Makes no sense.

    Yes he is fighting Guerrero May 5th. The mexican and latinos may not know who Guerrero is now. But they will and support him 100% vs Mayweather. The event will be a success. Huge story to tell and Mayweather can maximize his profit. Cinco de Mayo baby you know its gonna happen!

    it would be canelo. using guerrero as a bait so that people would be thankful that he is fighting the great saul alvarez when it was the actual plan of GBP from the very start.

    Weird thing is David Levi, of the money team, said that the next fight would be a big surprise to Arum.

    I thought that meant Cotto...
