Proposed deal between Bute and Froch

He wasnt in danger of being stopped in the Taylor fight, he went down and had his wits about him all the time.

We're talking about evidence, and really... is there evidence to suggest Bute can't KO Froch? :think

It'll be a very exciting fight. When Bute finds a way to safely counter Froch's jab, Carl should go all out brawler and we'll see some high paced action IMO.

 

Don't wanna sound like a downer, but...

A 34 year old Froch who just finished up a grueling tournament with a lot more ringwear than he had a few years back and coming off a fight in which he took a pretty substantial amount of punishment (lots of clean, hard shots by Ward). Anyone see where I'm going with this? As excited as I would be to see this fight, I can't help but think in the back of my mind that Bute is catching him at exactly the right time. No disrespect to Bute. I'm just saying that Froch is no spring chicken and the tournament may have sped up his aging process (in ring years that is). I mean seriously, look at the string of fights the guy's had since he first won the title in '08.

Bute > Taylor?

Taylor dropping Froch years ago has no relevance in a Froch Bute fight. None.... At all.

 

He didn't go down from being off balance. Taylor simply has proven time and time again, he is not a finisher. Bute knocks people out, Taylor doesn't. If Taylor can catch him then Bute can catch him.

 

Yeah, I guess Froch is MUCH fresher now.

 

Come on Drozzy,let's keep it real here.Is there evidence to prove Manny Pacquaio couldn't knock Wlad Klitschko out? There's no evidence to prove I couldn't knock Bute AND Froch out,but we all know it won't happen.You always bring a good debate to the table,but to say that just because there's no evidence that someone CAN'T do something lowers it to playground level and sounds like "my dad's bigger than etc"
All I've been saying is that if you keep these debates on a reasonable and mature level,there's nothing to suggest that there's a SMW who could safely be predicted to KO or stop Froch.Even before the Ward fight,you know I always acknowledged Carl was a flawed fighter,and clearly he can be beaten,but some are saying Bute will easily stop or KO him and there is absolutely nothing to suggest that is a probability.Even if it did happen we've seen nothing from either fighter to suggest it is likely thus far.

 

And I fully expect Bute to predict a KO,but I see he's using that silly triangle logic that rarely if ever,stands up to proper scrutiny.Expect better from a knowledgable fighter.

 

the automatic rematch is disgraceful, if true. They can do something like HBO did with Devon/Bradley, give a network the option to show rematch, but if the first fight sucks, allow them each another fight on the network.

 

Yeah I know Froch is battle worn, still has no relevance. Even if Bute fought Taylor and knocked him out in 2 minutes it wouldn't mean a damn thing between Froch and Bute.

Pavlik beat Taylor twice who beat Hopkins twice who humiliated Pavlik, so what's your point?

Nothing aimed at you Hermit,but an excellent point that shows a fine example of how the "triangle theory" has more holes than a truckload of polo mints in it.Can't believe that Bute is now using it,which is why I suspect that some people who would normally know better are now using it as some sort of theoretical boxing gospel.I suspect if Lucien hadn't said it,some of the more sensible members of the fanclub would never buy into that type of flawed logic.

 

...which I never said, right? I always viewed the fight as very winnable fight for Bute, with slight chance of a TKO/KO. You know, like cloudy with a chance of showers kinda thing.

When I assume, in whatever thread on ESB, that Bute's record will include a Froch stoppage after they fight, It's what I'd like to see happen - I never called it a certainty, far from it.

Of course the triangle theory used by Bute is flawed. Of course! But he sat through the fight, and the first thing he said when asked to comment on Froch's performance was "I would KO him" - WTF mate?!? Gentleman Lucian Bute is saying he would KO a man who has a way better record he has, and a man who's been talking trash about him for 2-3 years now? Well that's intense.

So my guess is, Bute's attitude/approach in the ring will be a 180 vs the Johnson fight. He can wait to set up counters, but wouldn't wait all night to get the power shots in.

If Bute can get a couple KD's as a result of power punches Carl doesn't see coming, and if he can show some killer instinct, I think he can get a stoppage.

Again, I never attacked Froch's toughness or chin, and never predicted an easy KO. It'll be a matter of breaking Froch down to the body, and I'm confident Bute has the ability to do it.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY predicted Bute KO Andrade for their rematch. Kessler couldn't rock the guy, how the hell could Bute put him down?!???? Well there you go.

So you think that even if the situation warrants it and even if there's a 2nd fight clause in the contract, Bute wouldn't go to the UK? Late news suggest otherwise. As well, Bute told the press he was "willing to fight Ward in Oakland or Froch in Nottingham" after the S6 final.

A Froch KO/TKO is more likely IMO. Of all 5 possible outcomes, Froch UD is to me dead last in terms of probability.

Froch out boxing Bute does seem a tad far fetched to me. Everyone is under rating Bute because he wasn't invited to the dance. They forget WHY he wasn't invited.
