You're forgetting that tickets will likely range from a few hundred dollars (bad seats) to $10k+ or whatever for ringside. Obviously it wont be $1300 across the board.

Although I do agree that the $40m figure is unrealistic.

 

The "erecting a temporary stadium" thing is an excuse.

May 5 is booked. Has been for a while.

Pac has fought early May at MGM a number of times in the past few years (as has Floyd).

It makes perfect sense to fight then.

It's clear that Arum (and I'm beginning to now believe Pac) don't really want this fight.

 

The more people in the arena, the more people in Vegas.

The more people in vegas, the more $ people spend in casinos etc.

The more money spent in Vegas on the weekend of the fight, the more money generated through sponsorship etc.

Therefore, 30,000 extra people bring in $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

 

While you're probably right, we are talking about a fight that even if it was fought at the MGM, would generate more money than any other fight in boxing history.

So surely money is not an issue.

He’s surely talking about site fee. They don’t sell all the tickets, they charge the casino a fee, and they give the seats to the high rollers.

The casino wants it at their place for the publicity, and for people to come because that’s where the fight is, so pay more than the ‘ticket value’.\

That'd be an excellent point if all the tickets to boxing matches were equally priced. But those who have been to a boxing match before know that tickets range in price. your point is void

 

The tickets for those extra 40,000 would be the cheaper $100 tickets, netting what 4million tops, it's small change

 

That **** is overrated. Sweatin' your ass off with 49,999 other mooks in the nosebleeds. **** that, my 65" hd flat screen, in the comfort of my own home will do just nicely.

 

Not void at all since his point is that the $1333 figure is what would need to be charged on average for the additional 30000 seats, something that is highly unlikely. There wouldn't suddenly be a much greater number of ringside seats in any outdoor stadium than there woud be at the MGM. As PowerPuncher notes, the additional stadium seating would be cheap seats and cheap seats alone

 

Also if it's not in a casino, you lose the casino hosting payment that casinos pay to have all the big gamblers there, something around 20million plus

It is actually a point worth noting, maybe someone can explain how 30,000 can make $40m? i am pretty sure that Bob Arum is not fibbing about being able to make an extra $40m, after all he is such a penny counting Jew.
