'Floyd has to return to jail 1st of June. The reason Pac is asking for the end of may is because Floyd has the MGM booked for May 5th which can only hold 16000. There nearly finished building a new stadium which Pac wants which can hold 45000 people! In total the fight would make an extra $40 million in the bigger stadium! Your probably find it won't happen as the only reason Floyd was delayed prison was because of the May 5th date and pre booked the MGM. BUT money Talks and I'm sure if Floyd went to the courts they may change there mind depending were the stadium is being built! Mixed news on that it sound like it's in the philipienes and if it is no chance the fight will happen. Ok..... The stadium isn't actually a stadium! There is a guy in the states that actually builds temporary stadiums who says he could build it by may 5th but worst case end of may. So would be on the states so no reason why the fight can't happen.' Admin of Grace of Boxing (like them on facebook) What say guys?
The tickets for those extra 30,000 would be the cheaper $100 tickets, netting what (30,000x100) = 3million tops, it's small change and what will the temp stadium cost?
The date and venue are locked! (This tactical move gave Mayweather the jail-report postponement). It's an event on this date and venue or no event at all in 2012. Step up or duck it. The same venue was good enough for Mayweather-DelaHoya or Holyfield-Tyson. This event isn't that much bigger than Mayweather-DelaHoya (just slightly). The venue is good. No need for a temp-stadium **** for some revenue pocket change ($40 mill extra is not attainable).
These are the discussions we are having on the Grace of Boxing facebook page. So i thought i'd share it with you guys. Post #1 isn't official it's just our thoughts and speculations.
Pandering to a 'few' more people in the nosebleeds is a duck. An event of this magnitude is worldwide blockbuster television viewing. If Arum is really that worried he could broadcast it in theaters etc. No one needed to watch the lunar landing from the moon yet every ****er tuned in for it. We should not lose this fight due to Arum's insistance on selling a few tee-shirts and programs to some out of shape hicks who insist on watching the fight from 200+ feet away when they could watch every moment in up close and personal HD at home for a nominal fee. This is a record breaker not a deal breaker.
