    Natural talent - Jones

Skill - I'd personally say Whitaker, but only by a small margin.

    Legacy - Whitaker.

Both incredibly talented but in a different way.

Pete was skilled, while Roy was gifted. Whitaker was more fundamentally sound and relied on his quickness of the mind. Roy was the better athlete and relied on his freakish athleticism MUCH more.

It's really hard to compare someone to Ray because he was so unique. How do you talk about his jab for example, because sometimes he didn't need to jab, whilst someone like Pete had his jab as one of his main weapons.

If i had to sum them up i would say Roy was incredibly talented and Pete was incredibly skilled.

    Pete ranks higher for me.

Both had insane talent, but Pernell chased the bigger fights and fought everyone where as Jones went for years without making much effort to fight anyone good and he would have beaten them easily.

    Whitaker

Jones proved to be a little overrated, his resume during prime doesn't stand up to the top 25 ATG considering the era he fought. A loss in 2000 means a lot more than one in 1940.

Jones more athletic...but Whitaker gets him on talent and skill. I think this because after Jones' natural ability deteriorated, his skills couldn't carry him. Whitaker managed to stay near the top even after his natural reflexes were gone.
