Who hits harder? Ortiz or Pacquiao?

  1. Just wondering what u deviants think. Does Pacquiao have the power to stop Floyd with a single punch? I dont think so. He couldnt hurt Marquez. Furthermore, Mayweather's chin is pretty solid. He took a few good shots from Ortiz and he didnt even blink.

Pacquiao, and it's not even close. Ortiz's power is far overrated.

  3. If Pacquiao can't knock Mayweather out, he doesnt stand a chance. P4P he hits harder, but at 147? Ortiz was on the verge of stopping Berto. I dont think Pacquiao can do that.

Pac wobbed Margarito a few times where cotto couldn't.

He had Mosley on his bike, when he connected solid.

He just never really landed anything to solid on marquez Chin.

    I'd say Ortiz hits harder.

However Manny has more chance to find that chin. And aso is more accurate.
(Accuracy and Timing also cause a fighter to be Knocked out and not just power) You gotta connect with that Cheeeeeen

If they both hit a punch sensor thingy Ortiz would get the higher score.

but pacquaio has the more damaging punches on a human being

Of course he does, workrate alone can win you rounds.

At 147 and above, Pacquiao still hits harder. Ortiz's power does not dent or hold off Margarito. When has Berto shown a great chin? Pacquiao destroys Berto. :deal

Ortiz probably hits harder @ 147....... but whose more likely to land a punch on the button, then its Pacquiao. He can hit you from unorthodox angles, which Ortiz can't, whose pretty one dimension IMO.

I think Ortiz hits harder. But i think Pacquiao would consistently hit harder over the course of a fight.

Ortiz, for brute force, I'd bet on. Of course, it's being used with vastly different other attributes and skills. Ortiz is something like 15 pounds heavier than Pacquiao when they make it to the ring. They're both punchers, but one's a significantly larger puncher and he either stops or knocks down almost everyone. I think he may've stopped or knocked down every opponent he had, until Floyd. And I think it's all from 140-147 weigh-in fights. Too much is made of Pac's single-punch power. He gets off so many damn punches, from so many angles, with such torque, if he hit as hard as Ortiz, the Hatton knockout would probably have a couple copies. You don't have to hit that hard to mess a guy's face to **** when you're landing hundreds and hundreds of flush, fullblown power punches on them. Pacquiao unloads like a mother****er and does the damage with offensive skill and volume, but I don't think his single-punch power is comparable to a less dangerous (skilled), but harder hitting Ortiz.

    Ortiz, signifigantly

Pacquiao has more speed and punches from different angles though, which is more dangerous than the more predictable Ortiz brute strength

Ortiz would have a move powerful single shot, however, Mannys punches are faster more accurate and in plenty more supply than Ortiz's

It doesn't matter so much who hits harder, it is how the punch is landed. If Pacquaio caught Mayweather like he did Hatton I have no doubt he would knock him out, the difference being is that Mayweather would never walk into that shot like Hatton did.

Speed can be a vital component in a KO as well as hitting your opponent when they are not expecting it. Pacquaio has decent power (but not massive) at the weight, is a fast puncher and throws shots from all types of angles so I would say he does have the ability to KO Mayweather although I don't expect it to happen.

His last two fights he has been sloppy and seems to struggle when a good boxer fights on the backfoot causing him to chase and throw shots with less accuracy. The key for Pacquaio in this fight in my opinion would be to make Mayweather come forward which could lead to some very boring rounds as both boxers try to assert their gameplan.

    Ortiz hits harder.

Pacquiao's punches has its effects because it's unexpected and he does it in bunches.

probably Ortiz, but Pacquiao will land shots on you that Ortiz can only dream of throwing (let alone landing) and Pac is more accurate.

Pac could probably still make the LW limit. I have doubts that Ortiz can even make 140. the size diference is huge.
