Simple who will be the next heveyweight champion?
In order to make things a little more interesting slect one boxer from each of these catagories. 1. Never been a World Champion. 2. Never been heaveyweight champion but are or have been champions in other weight classes. 3. Former heaveyweight champion.
My choices are 1. Chris Arreola 2. David Haye 3. Nikolay Valuev

Well, if I can't say Klitschko, then I guess I would go with either Arreola or David Haye. Haye will do damage in the HW division and give Wlad a real fight if they meet. I look forward to that day as it will as close as anyone will ever get to that propose Wlad/Lennox fight that ended up only happening in Ocean's Eleven.

Out of those listed obviously for category 1 Haye.

Out of those not listed for category 1 Povetkin will definately be a world title belt holder.

Povetkin is probably a more reliable bet, due to Hayes chin and stamina issues.

Klitschkos are the very best, by far. But they can't be counted, neither can Valouev. Povetkin will lose to Vlad, but he will become a world champion eventually.

    1: Wlad Klitschko

2: Lil Floyd would be most likely, thus that is how unlikely it is to happen, at the moment.

3: Evander Holyfield would be the most likely, but still very unlikely.

I like David Haye, but saying he's the future of the heavyweights because he bombed out Bonin? Really? Bonin was not even a fringe contender on the world stage. Haye has a lot to prove yet at heavyweight, like proving he can take a heavyweight punch for starters.

They are all so vulnerable that any heavyweight prospect, contender or beltholder could lose any time. That is something you couldn't say about the real champions like Lennox Lewis.

Actually Lewis lost quite unexpectedly to far lesser boxers in McCall and Rahman. Lewis was my favourite fighter when he was active, but I want people to be fair when comparing boxers or eras in boxing, not see the past in a glorified light.

For the record I like David Haye. But how on earth can you say his chin will not be an issue at heavyweight? He was so close to being out of there by Mormeck, who by heavyweight standards would be a relatively light hitter. His chin will not miraculously become better, it will always be a weakness. He needs massive improvements in his defence, otherwise he will end up starched sooner rather than later.

I really look forward to watching how Haye will do at heavy, but I´m not going to make any statements either way.

It remains to be seen how his power at CW translates into his power at HW. Some people claim his chin or stamina were worse at CW because he was always weight drained - which remains to be seen too.

I´m kind off rooting for Haye though. The division could do with some new blood that doesn´t disappoint.

On Povetkin, I´m sure he´ll be champion of one or more of the alphabets sometime, just not over Klitschko´s defeated body ;)

Lewis lost because of inattention, not because of any fundatmental weakness.
