I think that Cotto is stupid to rematch Pacquiao ... he should fight Floyd when they were both with TopRank and both in the 140lb division.

I have no idea. If he was a 100% free agent, I would have thought we'd have heard more about it. He's the third biggest draw (behind May and Pac) in the States, so details of his promotional status would be more clear, especially seeing as though he's the most ideal person Floyd would settle for. However, GBP, Schaefer, Oscar, Floyd himself, etc, none of them have confirmed or even talked much about Cotto's free agent status.

Meanwhile, Arum is still talking about Pacquiao-Cotto II and Cotto-Chavez Jr. I know he's not the most reliable of people to listen to, but he's acting like nothing's changed with his relationship with Cotto. Which makes me think he's still committed to TR somehow.

But who knows. Next couple of weeks should reveal more.

Yo, where did you get that pic of Floyd in your avatar? Is it real, or did you photoshop the hat on? I've never seen money in a WAR cap before.

Over on Bscene he's saying he could fight Alvarez if there's an offer. Arum would ofcourse like to keep Cotto and match him with Pac or Chavez Jr

Alvarez-Cotto would be the best 50-50 out there, I'd pick Alvarez but it'd be a very exciting fight. Winner can fight Mayweather or Pacquaio, they will have earned it

Floyd was 17-0 and like 2 yrs in the game and took on Genero Hernandez to win the title. So why different with Cotto? ... He was in the Olympics just like Floyd was.

Cotto-Alvarez is a mouth-watering fight. Would love to see that.

I’ve just checked on the place where they Fights are Hyped, and Cotto, in his Golpe a Golpe interview, said:

“With Top Rank the contract expired. We are free agents, but have not ruled out the help of those who were, are, and will be our promoters”

Still not sure exactly what would entail. As long as TR are representing him in negotiations, a Mayweather fight will always be a difficulty.

Thats just an excuse the Floyd haters use to say he ducked Cotto.

Floyd was supposed to wait around for Cotto to be "ready" and then pursue a fight with him (nevermind the fact that Floyd was the champ and the bigger star at the time).

Floyd never ducked Cotto. That's ridiculous.

He just retired so he didn't have to fight him.

There were rumours Mayweather and Cotto met in person in the summer of '10 maybe to talk about a future belt or to lure Cotto away from TR?

I hope Arum hasn't got Cotto still because he'll push through a Chavez fight, which will be decent but where does it lead? Cotto-Pacquaio 2 for the 'MW title' :-(

Cotto and Hatton (both Champions) were there at the Arturo Gatti fight ... It seems as though they were scouting Floyd.
