Lewis knocks him out clean in the fourth round. Vitali would not be able to eat any uppercuts like he did in the first fight. in a second fight , Vitali barely conscious on the canvas.
He took some good shots in the first . he could not take the same type of blows in a second fight; from Lewis.

Yeah but he was overweight against Rahman. When Lewis first won the WBC belt he was over 20lbs lighter.

And anyway, if you don't think 10lbs is significant, you don't know **** about boxing.

Vitali would have stopped him! Lewis got lucky.

Lewis retiring after the rematch showed that he lost the motivation and desire, thats the right time to call it a day.

If he had more motivation and came in shape, no doubt, he would school vitali and stop him again.

Number 1 fundamental rule in boxing: LEWIS TKO6 VITALI

klitlickers ignoring the fact that in the 6th round, vitali was holding on for dear life, the fight had already turned during that round.

Lennox was a great champ!! I really cant fault them stopping it. Prime LL vs. Vitali?? but if then I feel VK by tko!! But good q raised, why did LL retire turn down HUGE payday??

  9. And we will never know who wins between Wlad & Vitali because they are both chicken**** momma's boys...!!!

They haven't fought each other due to their mom requesting it, so why when Lewis' mom ask him not to fight Vitali again is he a chicken****???

    Double Standards???

Lennox didn't have a fragile chin. The punch he took in the Rahman I fight was so strong, that

+ The McCall fight was somehow influenced by the referee. He didn't allow Lewis to recover. You do not stop heavyweight fights when one fighter remains standing and responsive. Lewis could have made the round in the McCall bout with a little bit of luck.

So, the "Lennox had a glass chin" afirmation is, in fact,

That he didn't posess an iron chin, that's another story.

The cut changed it all, fight totally changed after the cut.

People say Lewis figured him out, when in reality Vitaly's cut was blinding his eye.

I was around Lewis' camp. He was not out of shape. He trained wrong, not poorly.

And Vitali wins a rematch. Lewis had lost a step, he was having some issues in turns of lingering aches and pains and sparring for Kirk Johnson/Vitali went horrendously. He knew he wasn't the best heavyweight alive anymore, and retired on a high note after pulling out a terrific come from behind win.

Its one of the smarter, braver decisions made in the sport.
