Yes it was a typo, but the fact remains that this ufc dick proves nothing with his illogical comparison of espn boxing and ufc fighter payouts,
:|:|:| The UFC has been here for less than 20 years, and just 10 under the F brothers.. They have come such a long way since, and their fighters and Mixed Martial Artist in general are making more money than ever before. Pacquiao, Top Rank and Boxing are a laughable comparison.. Only an idiot would point to Boxing and expect the same from The UFC this early in the game. Mixed Martial Arts and its fighters have gotten this far by way of The UFC.. Give them credit.
MMA was pretty big under Dream and fighters were earning tons also. The UFC hasnt dont anything special when it comes to MMA, all they've done is rip off fighters and bring down other promotion and non Zuffa contracted fighters. Its the UFC and Zuffa that wants to discredit boxing. You cant pick and choose. If UFC wants to play with the big boys then they play under the big boy's rules. Dana's and the Fertitta's IDIOTIC antics wont stand up and what they do will be scrutinized more closely by the BIG BOY'S MEDIA. The days of Ariel Helwani and all these paid bush league zombies is coming to an end.
Everyone knows MMA has never been as big as it is now.. Pride crashed and burned, don't even try to say it was bigger.. Just stop living in the past. Like I said.. Your the idiot when it all boils down, painting the picture you want and not seeing Mixed Martial Arts for what it is, which is relatively new when compared to Boxing. Saying The UFC hasn't done anything special for the sport is ignorant, and those other promotions fell on their own.. Nothing illegal about how The UFC made it to the top.. They simply do it better than any other promotion in MMA. I can't believe you throw up Pacquiao's earnings like it means something.. Two completely different structured sports and promotions, GBP and Top Rank in his case. Pacquiao's been padding and protecting his record throughout his career with the help of managers and promotion.. Why don't you call them out? A Mixed Martial Artist fights his way to the top and forefront with no help, not even when he has made it to the big leagues. As much money to be made in Boxing, its been the most corrupt sport in the world for years, and only got to where its at with that dishonorable practice.. Boxing is more sport than business, not to mention hundreds of years older.. Like so.. Only an idiot would try to paint the picture you do. Let's call it like it is.. You wanna talk up Boxing, just remember its more business than sport, the world's most corrupt, and got to 2012 this way. If it weren't for the Fertittas.. MMA wouldn't be mainstream and more of a business than sport like Boxing.
Who has the highest viewer rate, who had the biggest venues with the most in attendance, who had the flashiest show, and who had the most champions from all different promotions and even sports. Dream crash a burned because of yakuza bosses, pretty much looking to be the way with the UFC with its own mafia bosses. Again Zuffa is playing with the big boys, if they dont watch their steps and tone it down then they will become just another casualty. MMA has existed for a long time is all different guises and all different names. Even now mixed martial arts is called differently in other pasts of the globe. Its noobs like you who doesnt realize this. Yeah thats a typical zombie saying, basically parroting what Lorenzo said. Tell me again how that shady Fertitta come to acquire the UFC at such bargain basement prices. This content is protected So promoters Top Rank pays PacMan a huge % while promoters UFC pays its champions very little %. I wasnt the one that initially compared it, it was your buddy Lorenzo Fertitta. It just goes to show that his argument is idiotic to the extreme. PacMan has fought and beaten the best in multiple division and from different promotions, this is how be became to the one of the best. Someone like Brock fought washed up and selected fighters within the UFC only. I think UFC pads its record more than boxing. In boxing you have to prove yourself, work your way up and be experinced before fighting in the big leagues. In the UFC all you need is be popular and buddies with Dana White. Boxing is indeed more sport while the UFC is modelled around WWE entertainment.
Laughable nonsence... How can you use Dream as an example when they have not been paying half their fighters? They haven't paid Saku for about 3 years! The UFC have never not paid a fighter. Minimum purse is $8k if you make weight... They have fighters insurance. Yes they make a lot of money but as far as benefits go they are the best out there. Lynchburg
Its a fair point. So many people say that MMA pays less than boxing based on a handful of mega-stars pay but the bottom of the level fighters make far more. And he's comparable like for like - ESPN cable fights with Spike cable fights.
Fertitta's point doesn't make sense because ESPN the company is profit overall, not ESPN boxing. FNF don't make THAT much money though the numbers quoted are still poor.
ESPN FNF swing bout between two nobodies = UFC excellence. That's what I think Lorenzo was trying to say.
Who had this, who had that.. DREAM has dick at the end of the day.. It amounts to nothing. No way does The UFC pad more records, or any for that matter.. That's long been a Boxing practice, and it doesn't apply to MMA. Pacman and Arum pick and choose who he fights.. Arum flies all the way to the Philippines with a list of everybody but Mayweather Brock won the title and had a line of contenders.. Pacman has a list of everyone but Mayweather, contracts, and world titles won on catchweights. As much as you post about Zuffa, you would be doing us a favor writing about Boxing promoters like Arum.. He does more harm to the fans than Zuffa ever will. The UFC is modeled for entertainment.. It's the quickest way for Mixed Martial Arts to become mainstream.. With hundreds of years on MMA, Boxing sells itself.. Professional Mixed Martial Arts didn't begin until the 80's. Like I said.. The most corrupt sport in the world, and more business than a sport. The fighters, managers and promoters all treat the sport like so.. Now let that marinate.
I do find it funny when people hate on the UFC business model being successful. Like they should take a step back and make it FAIR! As if business is ever fair. Not only that but the nature of the sport means they'll never really have a monopoly. They have a monopoly on the elite fighters but not the sport. They can easily argue that BAMMA, Bellator, Dream, Strikeforce (questionable), ONE FC, Titan FC etc all have a slice of the market.
Course they can. But that is disingenuous, infantile and simply stupid reasoning. For a FACT the UFC DOES have a monopoly on this sport. That's not even up for debate. If the UFC was subject to monopolization laws -the same as most large contemporary businesses- they'd have been divided up a long time ago. Ultimately they are a promotion and act as such. In addition Lorenzo has made a nonsensical point and a very feeble comparison. ESPN doesn't promote fighters. If fighter A only made $275 that's his promoters fault and the fighters fault. Plus that obviously represents an extremely rare case. There are many journeymen in boxing who by all accounts are very well off. You cannot compare a PROMOTION with a sport. If he wants to use a valid comparison then use DKP or Golden Boy. Plus there's no way to substantiate Lorenzo's ludicrous claim which is tantamount to just spitting poison. I find it VERY hard to believe that ANY pro would get out of bed for $275. That measly sum wouldn't even cover any of his fees.
