Might not have time to become WBC contender while it matters.
Hopefully he fights to become mandatory for Wlad after he recovers.

"why the **** did Helenius take the fight with Del Boy when his hand wasn't properly healed? now his next fight will probably be in a year or so"

That's a good point, there was no reason to risk the whole career for that title. He explained the Finnish media that he looked so much forward to fighting in front of the home crowd even though he was injured. The injury was worse than they suspected and it has resulted in making other ligaments from the hand loose.

Will be interesting to see if they can benefit from this pause and get his conditioning better now that upper body strength training is out of the picture.

Word around the campfire is that Helenius has had a slough of mounting injuries over the past year. The hand problem is apparent recurrent; I don't know what's going on with his shoulder. But I'm not the least surprised that he's off for six months. Dude needs major surgical work, from what I know.

And after that, some serious training to strenghten his shouldergirdle. Doesn't have to become a bodybuilding type, but I always felt like the guy could dislocate his shoulder just by throwing a hard punch and hitting air. And shoulder injuries can be nasty...

This is a problem with large athletes that don't train properly. Parts of their bodies can become very prone to problems.

Helenius strikes me as a VERY lazy athlete, who doesn't really care about conditioning. (let alone proper training. You get what you get.
