A few months ago people were real pissed off that Bradley was mooted to fight Pacquaio and with The Khan fight not coming off his stock was probably the lowest its been since before the Witter fight. However with Peterson beating Khan it seems his stock has rose again being so he scored a shut out over Peterson (in a closer fight than the result seems) and with the ongoing Pacquaio-Mayweather par-lava it seems a lot of people would rather see bradley fight him than Peterson or Cotto 2.
Interesting points. I think you are right. I would rather not see him fight Pacquiao though. At least not yet.
I think his stock didn't rise, but Khan's and the division's stock dipped a little bit, and he now stands out again as the most holistically accomplished relative to Khan, Peterson, etc. It still might end up being a poor choice to avoid fighting Khan to hold out for a Pacquiao fight that may never come, when beating Khan would have propelled him there for sure.
Cotto decisively beating Margarito hurt him as much as the Khan loss helped him in terms of getting bigger fights. Marquez fighting Pacquiao close probably also would have hurt, although it sounds like he's pricing himself out of a rematch and Arum and Pac would probably prefer to wait another 4 years before fighting him again anyway. I think lots of people are still pissed off about Bradley's actions last year and simply prefer him as a Pacquiao opponent because it at least wouldn't be the exact same old Top Rank ****.
I think what he has in his favour is that Pacquaio beat Cotto so decisively last time that interest in that fight is low, sure he avenged the Margarito loss but Pacauiao had destroyed him the year previous as well so another win over Cotto does nothing for anyone really. Marquez is a better fight as they have had three close bouts in which many believe Marquez won all three, certainly the last one. the problem is that Pacquaio has got the nod in both the last few fights and fans don't think it would be any different a fourth time no matter what Marquez does. Although Bradley isn't the perfect challenger he is unbeaten, has an impressive 140 resume (Peterson, Alexander, Witter, shot Casamayor, Holt, Vasquez) and his personality isn't as well known so would represent a different build up to the other fights. By all means I'm not a big fan of Pacquaio-Bradley yet neither but it seems with all the politics it might be the best option.
Bradley's stock didn't rise, Khan's dropped. Bradley is still a ducker though and probably feels a bit silly seeing how Peterson beat Khan. Had he taken the fight with Khan and beat him, he'd be definitely at the front of line for a may/pac fight he so craves, instead, he is still the guy who ducked Khan and stuck waiting for his lottery numbers to come up.
I would have given Pacquiao all the credit possible if they had chosen Bradley instead not chosing to fight FMJ. 60 Profights and I am still waiting on him to step in the ring with someone with SPEED AND ATHLETICISM.
I thought it was flatout dumb****ery that his stock should've fallen in the first place, honestly. He once called Khan out and tried to get a fight with him. They didn't want him. Now, when Bradley was on the short list of reasonable opponents for Pacquiao, and he didn't want to jeopardize that, Khan wants him all of a sudden and Bradley gets **** on like he's ever, in any way, been known to duck challenges. He fought three undefeated fighters in a row, in two weight classes, and unified his division twice, already. And he wanted Pacquiao over Khan. Does that sound like a coward? Does that sound like a ducker? Now people who shouldn't have turned on him in the first place are going the opposite way and acting like styles don't make fights, Khan was never very good, Bradley always would've beaten him because of a result with a mutual opponent, and blah, blah, kneejerk reactions, silly conclusions and general boxing fan ****ybollocks. Just in his favour, this time.
Peterson won two rounds max and thats being nice. Bradley made him look foolish on the inside early, rocked him 3 or 4 times and dropped him then Peterson started to do good on the inside for 2 or 3 rounds(2 which were close that couldve been given to Peterson) and then Bradley outboxed Peterson from the outside for the rest of the fight easily winning the last part of the fight and had Peterson completely stumped and had nothing for Tim. The scores are very accurate Peterson did fight his best and made a fight out of it early but Bradley still easily won but a wide margin and a shut out is a good scorecard.
I've got no problems about the scores or the fact that Bradley was in control the entire fight but when people see scores such as 118-110 119-109 120-108 then they automatically think that they destroyed them where in this case Bradley didn't but did outclass Peterson.
