If TopRank won't let Pac fight Mayweather then Cotto should take on that opportunity.

It won't be competitive, but if it happens I'll watch it.

I think it's competetive because Cotto will step up for the challenge but as the fight goes on May will impose his will and eventually stop Cotto or end his career. I think it's a legacy fight for both fighters though.

It will be competitive. To completely shut Cotto out he needs to be overpowered and hurt, Mayweather doesn't have the power to do that so this will be a boxing match for the most part and Cotto is very good at it. If it wasn't for being hurt and dropped then eventually being forced to be defensive, Cotto could have actually given Pacquiao hell as it was apparent in the first round.

And the pace that Floyd fights at will keep Cotto in the fight ... I think that Cotto is used to fighting at a slower pace with a low punch output.

I respectfully disagree. I don't think May has the power to seriously hurt Cotto. I don't expect Cotto to be the best boxer against May, but I expect him to be the harder puncher. As for his last fight, I wasn't impressed as the other fighter had his guard down. His own fault yes, but still defenseless.

It's not about power, it's about speed and accuracy. May holds great advantages over Cotto in both by a lot. Cumulative punching will stop Cotto, but by the 5th-6th (like in the Pacquiao fight) he'll be in survival mode.

I understand your point, my point is, I don't think May can hurt Cotto. Outpunch him yes. Cotto however, I believe has the power to hurt May, especially to the body.

^ Floyd is so overrated around here its ridiculoous. He couldn't stop a completely physically outmatched Marquez when he had him dominated.

Cotto looked awesome in his last fight, and plugged up a lot of the holes he had in his game. I would love to see him fight Floyd, I think he the best shot of beating him outside of Pacquiao.
