Is there a legitimate reason why Bute should not accept a fight with Andre Dirrell?

NO.....Bute has never turned down Dirrel as a potential opponent. But directly after Johnson, Bute called out the S6 winner or loser, wherever and whenever. Dirrel was not even active at that time.
After the S6, Bute called out Ward. Ward ran and hid behind G@@53N. So immediately, Bute called out Froch, and the wheels began to turn on that fight.

I'm sure Showtime wants to get Ward/Bute going, but it takes two to tango, and Ward is an unwilling partner. Should Bute dance alone? IDK, but I like Froch or Dirrel as his next opponent. But it seems Showtime wants no one but Ward.:|

No Dirrell would be the best fighter Bute has fought. It would be a big step up in class.

 

Listen to the Bute tards for a change, Dirrell doesn't deserve the chance. He only fought and beat Arthur Abraham, and arguably beat Carl Froch in Nottingham.

But, ofcourse.. Mendy,Brinkley,Magee and so on and so forth for 4 straight years have been PERFECTLY OK. Dirrell needs to prove himself.

 

1) A better win than Cunningham is needed

2) Dirrell doesn't bring enough money when compare to the others top fighters at 168.

That being said, I would love to watch a Bute-Dirrell fight!

 

As a Bute fan I would prefer Froch, Pascal, Ward or Hopkins over Dirrell. So maybe it's what his fans would "demand".
Or Is the high risk low reward. Dirrell is coming of a loss to Froch and a rare win via being out and twitching on the floor over Abraham, so we probably at least need to see Dirrell winning a fight against a better guy than Cunningham ,to hype the possible fight and considering the other options.

 

Bute fought the best available competition while the S6 was going.

Dirrel has a solid win over Abraham(he ran too much though) and a close loss to Froch.( I had him down 2 rounds, but he would have won had he not chose to RUUUUUUUUNNNNNN).

Dirrel faked his injury, but he's back and looking decent. I think he's prolly the 5th best SMQ ATM, and will be #1 0r#2 when Ward and Bute move up.

That said, he won't fight Bute unless he has an extension. So let's forget about that fight until Showtime signs him for 3-5 more fights.:deal

If Bute doesn't deserve a shot at Ward, Dirrell doesn't deserve a shot at Bute. Same stupid flawed logic.

Bute should take the Dirrell fight only if they can't get Ward or Froch to fight him. Would be a stinker as both guys would be fairly cautious with one another IMO, but if it has to happen because Ward NEEDS that easy homecoming fight first, and because Showtime doesn't wake up and smell Carl's coffee, then so be it. It's better than fighting old BHop.

 

Bute has unfinished business at SMW....namely Ward, Froch, Kessler, Stieglitz, and DirrelX2. Possibly even George, DeGale and Groves if they come along nicely.

Unless BHOP comes down, or Pascal/Dawson/Whoever, Bute aint moving up unless he has to chase Ward. If Ward's fighting SMW, then Bute's fighting SMW. He desparately wants to be the one who exposes the glass jawed antichrist andre ward.:deal

Dirrell is only just coming back from a lay off and even he said he wanted another tune up

If Dirrell fights and beats lets say Abraham in a rematch, Sakio Bika, Glen Johnson, Dmitri Sartison or even Aaron pryor jr and Bute doesnt rematch Froch then id like to see this fight if Ward decides Bute "isnt ready" for him.
