While not the most likely option, I think Berto shouldn't be disregarded, provided of course he wins the rematch February 11. If Andre comes out healthy, and there's certainly a possibility that he does not, he can take a 3 week break after the fight and still have a full 8 week training camp. It wouldn't be the longest promotion, but the Ortiz fight was announced just over 3 months before their fight, so it's not far off from that and it'll sell regardless. It's a gamble of course and I think we might get an opponent named prior to the Ortiz fight, but if it's not Manny, Cotto, or Canelo, then it may be worth waiting this out, and developing a Plan B in case Ortiz wins.
Ortiz is going to beat Berto again and he's coming for Void! REVENGE... Unfinished business! :fire:fire:fire
If Berto beats Ortiz and Mayweathe doesn't face Pacquio than Berto probably becomes the most likely option for Mayweather. He's a better option than Khan, Maidana-Alexander winner, and he's miles ahead of Guerrero. Guys like Cotto, Alvarez, and Martinez may be possible but for varying reasons I think a Berto fight is easier to make. If Berto beats Ortiz he's actually not a bad opponent for Mayweather but ,obviously, Pac is the fight that needs to happen next.
