Neural boxing opinion or reason: why did Floyd not want fight in 2009??

All Pac had to shut Floyd up was simply: Take the test. Both Mosley and Ortiz took it, why couldn't he?

 

Pac hasn't lost much of a step at all. I think Top Rank's brilliant match makers have made 2 mistakes in a row. They assumed Mosley would stand in front of them because he's shot and that Marquez was done. Neither guy stood in front of Manny, and he didn't look as good. i guarantee if you put him in with Ortiz or Berto, he'll look like old Manny because both guys will come in straight lines and exchange.

Cotto didn't box with Manny. He stupidly tried to overpower him by being bigger. He got outclassed and blown out. Mosley flat out ran...and Manny didn't look great because the guy wasn't tailor made for him. Cotto is an overrated boxer.

His absolute peak was the Hatton fight IMO. Everything was working then.

 

Manny been exposed by Marquez two fights before the last one, so Marquez can't be the reason why. Floyd fought Marquez when he came back from out of retirement and was looking for the Manny fight right after. I believe the drug testing was the issue then. Which was the reason why Mosley was his next opponent. Considering the statements by Arum as of late, this fight was never meant to take place. It was only used as a building mechanism to make Pac the star he is today and make Arum pockets that much wealthier. Floyd was a super star before we knew what a Pacquiao was. He shot to stardom in the shadow of Floyd Mayweather name. I don't know what change Floyd to make him come on so strong now, if I had to guess I would say age. Both fighters are getting older not younger, so why not put the pressure on him now? If they way any longer we might get a repeat of Jones vs Hopkins 2...lol.

pac wouldnt take the test according to olympic style stipulations. anything else is pure opinion. none of us are in floyd's head. we can only go off what floyd and his team said.

 

I would of favored the Pacquiao of 2009 if the fight ended up happening then. Floyd's smart tho.

Side-Topic: what's with the average/casual black boxing fan all over Floyd's nuts? and knows nothing about his career and who he's boxed. Seems like nowadays these phony's are more interested in his perfect record and all the money he flashes than the actual boxer.

 

the first time around team mayweather initiated negotiations showing they were the ones wanting the fight. the only way blood tests can be deemed a duck is if you believe Mayweathers a psychic since there's no possible way he knew Manny would decline a test that no other boxer on earth would turn down. It was shocking that Manny declined the tests, Mayweather had no reason to know that would happen.

 

I don't understand how Floyd could be considered ducking if he had his team contact Manny's team hours after the Cotto fight to negotiate...and how he met Pac's demand half way...I think the fact that people hate Floyd's persona so much; they overlook logic to just to make him look bad...And when people say Floyd wants the fight now because Pac looks bad or slowed down...1.) Floyd is OLDER than Pac...2.) Pac has looked the same against Marquez basically 3 times...3.) Do you actually think Money knew Pac would react the way he did following the Drug test request??

I feel now with the exposing of Bob Arum as a person who doesn't want the fight; people should be able to see all the spinning he's down with PR to the media..

 

first of all floyds team was the ones who PERSUED negotiations in 09. why would a scared fighter persue negotiations? when it comes down to it Manny Pacquiao WAS SCARED OF NEEDLES. why do people forget about that so quickly? anyone who believes h floyd has EVER been afraid of pacquiao is ******ed and doesnt realize how skilled floyd is. I would be way more scared to fight Mosley after what he did to margarito instead the smaller Pacquiao.

 

Anyone remember this gem from Arum?

Arum said this in October of 2009. That's right, when Mayweather made it known that he wanted to fight Pacquiao, Arum instead said the he should fight Mosley. Of course, after Pac beat Cotto, Mayweather had his people call Pac's people like a day or two later. The fight never materialized and Mayweather fought Mosley. Now again, Arum himself stated that Mosley was a tougher fight for Mayweather than both Pac and Cotto. Let's also remember that Mayweather wiped the floor with Mosley.

Somehow, Mayweather didn't want to fight Pacquiao despite the fact that he was the one who initiated talks, and despite the fact that he beat the hell out of a guy Arum said was a tougher fight for him than Pacquiao. Why is it that the TS puts all the blame on Mayweather despite Pacquiao's promoter suggesting Mayweather fight other guys instead of Pac, and despite Team Pac balking on a 14 day cutoff for testing, ending the negotiations, and then signing to fight someone else less than a week later? I'm having a hard time making sense of all of it.

 

After Pac destroyed Hoya, Mayweather was salivating over the idea of fighting Pac. Mayweather came out of retirement to fight Pac and wasted 4 months negotiating with Pac.
