Some say Salido ducked an "immediate" re-match with Juanma to make two (on paper) blah defenses.

I've read and seen interviews which would indicate that Joe Louis ducked a Max Baer re-match when Joe was champ.

Oscar never wanted to fight those guys again. But he fought old Chavez again, and sat down with Vargas for rematch talks

After beating De La Hoya the first time, Mosley went on to fight heralded names such as Antonio Diaz, Shannan Taylor, and Adrian Stone.

Oscar was known to undercut opponents and wouldn't budge on his demands even if he needed the fight for his legacy.

Mosley – “"He (Oscar De La Hoya) wants to fight me, but he wants most of the money for himself. If he wants the fight so bad, he shouldn't be greedy."

Mosley eventually took the fight once his stock dropped after his losses to Forrest, who he fought after those guys you mentioned
