Well Sabs,I certainly refute your accusations of hypocrisy and even though I'm not in the habit of feeling the need to explain myself,I'll make an exception here in the interests of fairness;I thought I made myself clear re my feeling on racism and xenophobia.I made the remark about Shaun because I had made a clear condemnation of xenophobic remarks but I was letting Shaun know that even though I disagree occasionally,I still find him very funny(I'm also sure Shaun doesn't give a good **** whether I approve or not,and rightly so!)
You have a personal battle going on with Shaun.I have never jumped on the back of it nor would I,but I have a strong feeling I know exactly what's going on on both sides.It seems to me that because I have enjoyed some banter with you in the past(and I also made the point about very decent Bute fans earlier,I hope you know where you stand there) you strongly resent me having any sort of banter with Shaun because you are having a personal battle with him.I would bet my shirt that Shaun isn't close to being the person you think he is,but it's not my place to dish out explanations here,and I would have handled the situation you find yourself in very,very differently from the way you have/do.
I don't think it's fair when people mock people's typing or grammar when English is not their primary language,but unfortunately I have witnessed several occasions where humour has been totally lost on people for whom English is maybe a 2nd language and whilst they have my sympathy,I also don't feel people should ALWAYS have to apologise for someone else not getting the joke.However,people who can type in two languages can type in twice as many as me,so they have my respect,but you are one of the ones who is very easily offended when I'm sure personal offence was never the original aim.
Like I said to Drozzy,there are several very fair minded Bute fans who bring a lot to the table,and it is because of the friendships(in a forum sense) I have with these people that I try to be careful nowadays when I post on Bute/Froch/SMW threads,but there are many who accuse anyone who posts a comment that is not completely sycophantic towards Bute of being a troll or hater.They are riddled with double standards and good ole' hypocrisy,trawling all threads for anyone who doesn't say wonderful things about Bute,posting GIF's that would infuriate them if it was about Lucien and calling guys like Ward and Froch cowards.The double standards and hypocrisy going on there are bigger than Canada and Russia combined.If someone started a thread or posted a comment about a Bute fan like the ones being done about Mr Magic you would be horrified and having kittens here.I told Mr Magic he was wrong to mention race/ethnicity and he should keep it about boxing.He acknowledged these points AND apologised.
Feel free to take me to task here Sabs,I'm sorry you feel this way but I won't be called a hypocrite until you can prove me to be one.The hypocrisy here is with the people who are pretending to find those pathetic comments funny just because they're aimed at someone who dislikes Bute.Just like they would be bang out of order if they were towards someone who was a Bute fan.
