Disagree with that, he looked good vs Dimitrenko. I wouldn't read to much into his recent performance against Pulev, he only took that fight on a weeks notice and it showed.
Wan't price chinny as an amateur? I recall him being dropped on his arse a few times. As a Professional he looks quality and I think he'll do more than any other of our current active heavyweights.
I think Price has a bright future. I'm not getting crried wy, but before the fight you said Price is dreadful, when clearly he isn't.
He had looked dreadful before. I'm still not sure that this domestic level opposition qualifies him for all the praise he's getting. I do like him, and he looks much improved, but the way people are asking him to be moved suggests they are figuring out a way for him to position himself for World class opportunities, I just don't think that's realistic at the mo'. The chance, yes, the chance to win? Let's slow it down. Fight more regularly, but no sharp jump just yet IMO. The way people are going on he's being made out to have Shavers' power and Lennox's ability to maintain range, just think everyone should chill so they're not too disappointed.
Yeah in MMA of course as there arent as many fighters. Fury is what 23/24 he still needs to sharpen up, Price is better at the moment. In fact I think both me would rather keep learning than fight each other and keep there 0 for that bit longer. The fight would make sense when the public really want it...let 2012 be the year where both men fight every two months....and early 2013...nice fight.
Think is Fury and his management would rather take a big fight for big money with the chance to lose than a high risk low reward fight with Price.
Its not the finishing, its the pure power...I mean guys are getting hurt with the first the second or third power punch....lets not forget R. Butler...a decent journeyman perhaps better than McDermott and he too was taken out quick.
When your 6'8 and 250 pounds you aint gonna be Sugar Ray Leonard...he moves ok for now. Would be nice to see him with an A grade journeyman who hasnt been knocked out...D. Guinn suits that one.
This is all spot on, why are people wanting top prospects to fight each other...or make Price jump up huge levels.....D. Guinn...affordable, never been knocked out and only lost to name fighters. S. Sexton would be nice M. Sprott also.
They have all caught my bug of naming a list of fighters for the next two years. Next fight - D. Guinn
I dont agree with dreadful, im sure if you watch a young Ali against D. Jones you would have thought the same. The man has serious power, every time he hits, he hurts...no one said about Shavers etc. I agree...need to calm the hype...there are literally hundreds of top pros out there...
He definitelly has talent but IMO he needs to get some rounds in against more durable opposition (although before the fight I would have said McDermott would be an ideal candidate to take him a few rounds) There are still questions about Price that his level of opposition thus far hasn't called on him to answer.
