What should Floyd do if he doesn't fight Manny next?

He should at least keep his word and fight on May 5th against a decent level of opposition. Martinez would be a huge fight regardless of it being fought at 150-154. but Cotto/Alvarez would suffice.

Its a strange hypocrisy that both pac and mayweather are in.

Marquez is a suitable opponent for Pac given their 4th fight but not for floyd as he dominated him

Cotto is a suitable opponent for Floyd given recent success but not for Pac as he stopped him easily before

What id like to see this summer realistically if no Mayweather - Pacquiao?

Mayweather - Cotto

Pacquiao - Marquez 4

what are we going to get most likely?

Pacquiao - Bradley

 

Not many options....He could fight the winner of Berto/Ortiz 2 and unify the belts.....Fight Cotto at 154 for his title in a fight thats long overdue and Cotto has looked good since his lose to Pac-Man...Martinez for the middleweight title would be great Im not into catchweights but for Manny or Floyd fighting Martinez is a tall order and IMO beating Martinez for the middleweight title would trump beating a smaller Paxquaio...Hell come to think of it if he never fights Manny he could start by facing the winner of berto/ ortiz....move up to 154 become lineal champ by facing and beating Cotto and Alvarez and end his career with Matinez...if he makes it thru those four fights undefeated he has nothing left to prove

Well its kind of ironic in a positive way that there are still good fights to be made for them besides each other and im hoping that with Cotto denying making a fight with Pac just yet and visiting the WBC headquarters means he is going to fight Mayweather or Canelo but I would not be suprised one bit if Arum is worming his way into a fight with Chavez at middleweight and yet again screwing sergio.

I agree with you, the Khan fight would be a ****ing terrible idea but it isnt impossible sadly

Canelo himself is a bit green at the moment and could be a superstar in the making, look at how Ortiz' stock dropped after the Mayweather fight, theres not a lot of hype for berto ortiz 2 now is there?

Either way i know another poster who booked tickets to go out on May 5th to vegas to watch any kind of boxing so i hope for his sake that he gets to see mayweather fight.
