The brief shake-up of the division he gave us isn't enough.

No, but he's close. he needs a couple more victories against fighters with a name.

If only Pac or Floyd weren't such duckers

unless he beats pacquiao and/or mayweather, plus cotto added in, he cant be in the hall of fame without pulling off a long string of wins against elite middleweights

    If Barry McG....

Seriously, not even close. If he moved up to 168, and beat Ward though...

Not yet.. And I disagree with those who say he has to beat Pac, May, Cotto or even Chavez Jr to get there as none of those guys will ever fight him. He just has to continue beating the best in his division and he'll get there IMO.. Beat Macklin, Pirog n hopefully Andy Lee and Rubio win their fights over Sturm n Chavez Jr because unlike Sturm n Jr I belive those guys would have the balls to fight Serge.

No, and this is coming from a Martinez fan! And to top it off, there aren't any great MW as of right now to get a better resume.

Chavez JR is just a name that is protected by the WBC and Top Rank. A win over him won't help Sergio at all, well atleast "legacy" wise because economically it will.

Proksa, Pirog, GGG, McKlin, Lee, Quillin are good upcoming fighters but are in the same boat Martinez was years ago. They need names on their resumes too.

He's not going to 168 being that 154 is really his most effective weight class. Can he go there? Yes. Should he go there? No. It will take away from his speed and power and he will not be the same fighter.

Of course he isn't, just throwing out a hypothetical that I'd love to see.

I agree that 154 is his best class as well.

I wanted to see it too don't me wrong.. I even thought it was a possibility when Serge trashed HBO n claimed he was going to Showtime, but the more I thought about it the more I felt it was too much for him. You never know though, anything could happen in boxing.
