MW Tournament (Round 1): Vito Antuofermo VS Gerald McClellan

Vito's tough but too hittable and slow and doesn't hit hard enough.

G-man by KO.

 

Yeah, this...it wouldn't look to good for Vito.

 

Vito got stronger as the fight went on and had a very good chin, he was hit solid by Eugene Cyclone Hart and Marvin Hagler and Minter and took the punches well. This would be a fight of attrition and who is stronger in the end..Vito crowded you to make the fight ugly but he was effective .....close fight...could be a SD or a late TKO either way...My thinking is Vito takes it SD in a rough and rugged affair

 

Gerald could Box when needed, as well as punch, and with Vito not being a hard
a hard single shot hitter, can he bully and knock Gerald off Kilter ? i think not,
If Alan Minter can beat Vito i think Gerald can too, it might be by points if Gerald can not gain a cuts stoppage.

 

G-Man cuts him up, or gets worn out.

G-Man on cuts. Luckily he's so one-dimensional and defensively porous he shouldn't do too well in this tournament.

 

Vito. Pts. Too tough.

 

I find myself leaning toward the more reliable guy...Vito. Gman would have to take him out VERY early, and that's difficult to pull off against prime Vito. If Vito gets through the firat 3-4 rounds, and I think he would, I think Vito would climb all over him.

Antuofermo on points, probably, although I wouldn't rule Gman being pulled out by his corner in the later rounds.
