1. Hitting a woman is much worse than cheating. 2. People have talked about it in the past. 3. If infidelity is such a big deal for you, then you probably can't root for any sport star, especially boxers. Probably every prominent boxer cheats at some point, and a disturbing number of them have been willing to hit their wives or mistresses. (Examples of those willing to beat wives or mistresses include: Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson [who beat his wife into multiple miscarriages] Tyson, Valero, Monzon, LaMotta, Michael Dokes, Gatti, Holyfield, Bowe, etc.) Ask a woman if she'd rather have her man cheat on her or have a trained fighter beat the **** out of her. See which she thinks is worse.
it barely gets mentioned on this site. but like i have stated i do not agree with infidelity however the point of the post was to address the double standard.. but thanks for your reply (i knew SRR was a wifebeater however i dident know it caused multiple miss-carriages)
Screwing around is not as morally reprehensible as woman beating is. I don't think the media paints Manny as a saint, more as a humble and respectful champion, and that he is. They hardly mention his private life because it's fairly tame for a celeb, especially compared to Floyd's. He cheats on his wife, who is going to know about it? It's obvious why Floyd's problems are highlighted. The guy's had numerous charges brought against him, and he's freaking going to jail for beating a woman. I really don't understand how his fans can cry about how he is portrayed in the media, the guy has gone all out to make himself into a villain type character and generate as much hate as possible to bring more attention on his fights. It's what he always wanted.
w/c of the two would you rather watch? watching a porn scandal, or watching a woman getting a beatdown by a man? :hat
