Fighters That Got Old Before There Time

Tom Dallas seems to have aged hard, i dont know if its just his upbringing or gym rat via sparring etc.......or maybe a hard paper round.

I also do not have any agenda etc against the guy either, just wish he didnt take the Price fight.......but.....that shows the manner of the man.

Benny Lynch. He actually looked in his 60s, no exaggeration, in his 30s :-(

 

I think he had it tough from the beginning by the sounds of it.

I have one, its a small hardback (green) and if i remember reading here , its one of his better ones......regarding the author/writer.

 

He didnt fight grown men until the age of about 15 IIRC from the book (and even then, the grown men were only 19-20-21 etc). But the time he was 19, he was completely shot as his trainer weight drained him to such a great extent.

He started off as a Flyweight, and by the time he was 23, he weighed on the Light Heavyweight limit.

 

Joe Frazier was done at 29 due to tough fights and his style.

 

Tyson had a short peak and seemed to get old early.

 

Keep an eye out of Saul Alvarez. We may be adding his name to the list in a few years

I heard Kevin Anderson was an animal for fights.......to buy his house etc.

Right or wrong, am gutted.......he was special.........he won the Brit all nations as a 17 year old, then went on to win the seniors the same year.

Amir and his team will be appealing against the ageing process.

 

I think the list will grow longer and longer as time goes on with the ridiculous amount of excessive weight cutting going on.

Because fighters spend less time working on their skills they'll get hit more often, so it's a double whammy.
