I stopped buying the Ring when they decided to fire everyone because it was effectively a different magazine.

With the Internet, the Ring Magazine had no chance.

Steve Collins is just bitter because The Ring let him go.

The Ring was wise to finally get rid of some of their awful writers like Eric Raskin and Ivan Goldman.

I'd rate those two as the very worst of all boxing writers.

you mean nigel collins and the worse boxing writer is Lyle Fitzsimmons who thinks joe fraizer doesn't deserve to be in the hall of fame

I'm not sure what they mean; lots of people claim bias in Ring Magazine, but I've never seen too much of it in the issues I pick up.

Nigel Collins did a good job, and Joe Santoloquito (managing editor) was the best writer in the game, if not then top 5. Raskin was a great writer too,

And they hire ****ing Doug Fischer, a ****ing amateur piece of **** who admitted he just supports whoever was west coast and hated all others b/c that's all he had access too. Pathetic.

While that's a point, it didn't necessarily have to be true.

They done changed the format and look inside and everything now. Sucks too because their rankings were always the "standard" and the Ring Belt was generally always held by "the MAN" in each division (considering the was A Man).

I used to buy the Ring.

It's certainly changed but I don't think all the changes have been for the worse. In it's old form, everything The Ring offered was also available online and it looked dated. It isn't perfect now but I think it has a better chance of surviving.

They just tryin' to look like everybody else....when they had an awesome deep rooted tradition.

I mean I love to look at the ladies, might go look at some now that I'm thinkin' about it..:)hey:p)...BUT the Ring shouldn't have stooped to havin' a monthly Ring Card Hooker page like the "other" mags do. :yep

I really used to look forward to Detloff's and Raskin's writing, alas they have been frozen out.
