Gamboa is an HBO fighter, Rigo is ESPN still.

Just saw that too. We'll see if Donaire responds.. I would rather him fight Rigondeaux now.

Yep. I think Donaire knows that is a very high-risk, low-reward fight and won't go near Rigo.

The fight has to simmer, similarly to Hearns-Leonard. Dundee in his wisdom, delayed the fight to build up the hype. If Rigondeaux can follow up with impressive wins over good competition, the hype will build and hopefully Top Tank won't tank this fight.

Does Rigondeaux have the same manager as Lara? This reads just like his trash talk.
After the arbitration with Golden Boy, Donaire re-signed with Top Rank for another 2 years and it sounds like they kissed and made up. Only prior to that, when it looked like his contract was running out in mid-2011, was Rigondeaux's name mentioned as a possible opponent. Now that he's firmly under the banner, Donaire will get to pick whichever easy opponent he desires.

Yeah. With his P4P status being where it is with a bunch of people I don't see him risking it unless he has to.. And with Manny having one foot out of the door basically, I don't think Arum would try and force it on him. Donaire has options, and will pursue those before Rigondeaux.

Donaire is just scared of the Cuban master Rigondeaux and of losing his so called P4P greatness. I think that he is just making this up so that the Cuban fans don't get pissed off at him for running away from Rigondeaux. He knows that Gamboa is going to 135lbs, therefore unreachable for him at this moment.

Is just like I always said, " Don~aire is just air! ;)

He wants nothing to do with Rigo and Gamboa crushes him.

Right. It's clearly an unrealistic fight to make at this point.
