Rumors say Showtime might want Taylor or Dirrell as Bute next opponent.

Bute - Dirrel would be a good fight , for the fans. If not , Bute should travel to Nottingam and fight Froch.

 

****in Interbox booked the April 14th date at the Bell Centre seeing how the Habs were NOT playing there on a Saturday night. I don't see them cancelling to send Bute to Nottingham in May, FML.

I think Andre Dirrell needs another fight before taking on Ward or Bute, but that's just me. Please lord let it NOT be Taylor, I'd be cringing throughout the entire fight hoping JT makes it out of the fight healthy.

I will gladly be part of the riots in Montreal if it's Interbox CHOOSING Green or Taylor over Dirrell. Seriously, enough is ****in enough.

If he face Bute he will wight 160lbs after the fight without is teeth!

 

Showtime's apparent stance on this makes no sense to me.

Froch is still a force in the division at the moment. His value won't get any higher unless he beats any of the other top guys.

Taylor shouldn't even be considered at this point. I'd say he is at least 2 or 3 successful fights away from being ready. And at least one needs to be a quality opponent.

Dirrell also needs at least 1 more fight IMO. Dirrell does not have a large fan base, but he is a dangerous opponent who could short circuit long term plans of Ward-Bute.

Why not maximize on Froch now, get Bute primed for a fight with Ward and build up Dirrell so he can be in he mix later? It's win, win, win. If Froch manages to beat Bute, you could have Froch- Kessler II, Dirrell II or even Ward II.

Their reasons probably make sense on some level, but I don't see it. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

 

Unless Bute is coming down to 160, it won't be Taylor, and if they select Dirrell this entire Bute hype train comes to screeching halt...Dirrell whips his ass.

 

I've been out of the loop for awhile, but what happened to Ward-Bute? Is that not on the table anymore? If so, that sucks...

 

Please make it Dirrell. Dirrell is prime and will whip Bute azz all around the ring.

 

Taylor already made MW in his last fight, he's done with 168. He also said he wants another 3 tune up fights before going for a title fight, at 160. Bute-Taylor is not a marketable fight anymore, it's like Bute-Joppy all over again.

Dirrell said he wants Bute, but he also said he needed another tune up, maybe they'll force him? Be a good marketing event, the Dirrell brothers against the two champs -Ward, Bute, prior to Ward-Bute.

 

Apparently Showtime is declining Froch as an opponent purely based on the high probability that HBO "steals" Bute from them with a juicy contract after he beats Froch.

So... 'we won't make big bucks with Bute-Froch, because HBO would make even bigger bucks with Bute-Ward' is the thought process here.

TVA Sports was mentioning Pavlik as a potential opponent for Froch in May, in Nottingham. WTF man.

Showtime would like Interbox to sign a contract extension which would allow the Bute-Froch fight to go along with the winner facing Ward down the road, but that idea in itself hinges on Ward's position regarding TV networks. Is he still linked to Showtime? Is he officially jumping ship to HBO, and if he is, why is Showtime even BOTHERING thinking how much HBO would make out of a Bute-Ward fight?? Out of their ****in control!!! Stop this ****in nonsense!!!!!!

Poor planning on Showtime's part if they didn't obtain rights to the Super Six Champ after he's won the whole thing; they signed Bute to fight that Champ, and are ending up nowhere cause they can't force the fight upon Ward. Even though that's what everyone wants to see.
