It's just as well. The whole S6 was Hershman's effort. Hershman has always shown an interest in 168, signing Calzaghe early in his career and later Lacy. Ward-Bute belongs on HBO now that Hershman is there, and he would give it the proper marketing. I think Showtime has become very much a Golden Boy-Haymon heist. They're not going to invest on anything they don't see a direct return on. Almost all the fights being made on that network now are affiliated with those two entities. I really want to see Bute-Dirrell. If Bute beats Dirrell, that would mean so much in terms of making a Ward fight.

If Bute would Ko Froch I think it would've mean more than any win against Dirrel multiplied by 2.

Mean more to who? Ward is the slight favorite over Bute and Ward just dominated Froch with a bad hand. Dirrell is seen as being very comparable to Ward in terms of talent.

After watching how Kessler was able to back up Froch the entire fight, despite trouble throwing his punches in spots, I don't see Froch troubling Bute as much as people might think, especially given how Froch has had a grueling road through the S6 and coming off that decisive loss. I'd rather see how Bute can handle Dirrell's style. That's something new and interesting for Bute, and would give some insight how he might handle another different style in Ward.

If Its against Taylor, i'll bash Bute badly. But if its against Dirrell then i'll have no problem with this. I honestly think if Dirrell get his head straight he'll beat Bute.

Bute don't want Dirrell for the same reason Ward don't want Bute. High risk low reward.

Those who say Bute should fight Dirrell, are not being consistent if they're not also saying Ward should fight Bute.

    Simple as.

Bute is low reward?! A big payday plus bragging rights in beating a clearly talented unbeaten belt hOlder?! I wouldn't call him low reward...

Bute/Froch botched for Bute against Dirrell? I bet even Dirrell's relatives would prefer to see Bute/Froch. It would be a helluva fight I hate when fights like these don't happen! Glad when they do though that's rare and usually low key.

I'm not Dirrell's biggest fan, but yeah, this. What's this about Froch having a homecoming? Bute might favor Froch in Nottingham for the first fight, rather than neutral ground, over Dirrell. I just don't know.

Taylor wont take that fight right now anyways.! He is a little smarter than what people think! He needs a few more fights. plus he is making a return to Middleweight. So its a dumb Idea!

I don't like that Showtime is acting like promoters, but I cant blame than since they brought attention to 168 lbs. They are taking steps towards a megafight between Ward-Bute
