If at the end of the fight Marquez had gotten the W he deserved, do you think the mega fight would have been more possible?

Some might think that Floyd wouldn't feel the need to prove himself anymore against Pac because of the A > B > C logic

but with so much money still on the table, Manny's reputation as a boxer wrecked, and seeing that the judges aren't on Pac's side (making an hypothetical victory of Floyd via running and pot shotting without taking too many risks more likely), Floyd would probably want the fight much more, it would also force Pac to accept Floyd's shitty offers, probably even a 70/30 split because he wouldnt be in position to negotiate.

Also, what would be Marquez next step in his career, as the official #1P4P?

Marquez would not of moved to number 1, he would be moved to number 2 behind Floyd Mayweather Junior who'd of been re-instated as one.

The Mega-fight would of lost even more luster than it has through Pacquaio's poor performance in the Marquez fight and if Pac wanted it he'd need to accept a deal much lower than a $40 mil flat fee or even 60/40. Would his ego allow that to happen? I don't think so, so it'd wreck the chances of this fight.

There was also a re-match clause in the contract, meaning we'd be gearing up for Pac - Marquez 4 right now.

Why are people so stuck on this 40 mill or no to 50-50? It would be a bad move to say yes to 50-50 (or he would take less like Pac did) before negotiations actually begins. The fight will get made when Arum tells Pac it can be made . . . not a moment sooner. The fact is that Bob has been making every excuse in the book for this fight not to happen for the past 2 years because he wants to milk Manny for every penny he can.

If JMM would have won on the cards it would not make a difference on team money's side. He would still want the fight but would have even more leverage and offer less money. the change would be on Arums side. Pac might have retired if he lost, Arum would want to cash that final chip against PBF if Manny still wanted to fight. If Manny did want to fight he might want to have a fourth fight with JMM to regain his lustre.

BTW PBF regained #1 p4p after beating Ortrees and Pac looked really bad against JMM. Until then I had them 1a and 1b

had manny take his loss and not rob Marquez he would have been able to justify a Marquez rematch. the idiot decided to rob Marquez now and will get **** for it if he rematches

Floyd wouldnt want the fight anymore if Pac loses. Also, JMM would not be #1 over Floyd

Actually, I think the way things played out (Pac looking terrible, losing the fight, yet getting an undeserved W) is the ideal situation for May wanting to take the fight.

However, it still hasn't happened, so it looks unlikely to ever happen.

Well Pac is still #1P4P according to Ring, boxrec and other rankings, i got confused

    http://boxrec.com/ratings.php?country=&sex=m&division=P4P

the mega fight could still take place after pac-jmm 4, and if Pac lost again, it'd be even more likely. Mayweather could offer him peanuts then

Why not, still would be truckload of money for him, moreso if we consider he could offer Pac much less

I think the Pac fight could still happen but it would be down the line. Pac would have to redeem himself with another win or 2 first or everyone would rip Floyd. He was even getting ripped some now and thats with a Pac win. They felt that he's only trying to fight now because Pac didnt look good. Imagine if Pac lost. Everyone wouldve been like, "now you wanna fight him". It wouldnt have been nearly as big.

Thats actually why Im one of the few guys who dont wanna see the fight right now. Id rather see Pac kill Bradley and make the fight massive again. Its still huge now but if Pac kills someone like Bradley then the fight is mega mega again
