It's pretty sad that Clinton Woods is held in such high regard

... when Roy Jones completely and utterly dominated him years ago. I don't care how much he's improved, it doesn't say much about the current LHW division. Tarver should make him his ***** if he even has anything left in the tank.

What a shame losing to a prime Roy.

Fans like you are why some Boxers protect there records.

On the contrary. It says very little about Woods that he was dominated by Jones at that point in Jones career.

Just like when Papke totally brutalised Ketchel in there first match, and gave him a brutal beating. Stanley never turned into anything did he? Oh wait, he beat him in the return, not that you would know anything about them by the looks of your ******ed post.

I could go on and on with countless examples. A loss often changes a fighter, whether good or bad. Sometimes it makes fighters ten times the boxer they were before. Sometimes it ****s them up.

Clinton is an honest man, good boxing skills, solid solid chin, had the balls to take on a just past prime RJJ, lifted himself back up, made a name for himself in a tough division, thats why he gets respect you little *****.

Ridicolous thread. Coming back better from defeat is the difference between a Duran or a Pacquaio or a Barrera or a Morales or an Ali (need I go on?) from a Hamed per se

I think it says less that a fighter who made his career on a lucky shot is a name at LHW.

again, just how TOUGH of a division is it, really? No doubt Jones was pretty much unstoppable at that point in his career, but Woods did absolutely nothing in that fight to garner the praise he's received.

Futhermore, are you clinton woods Sr, for chrissakes? Take a pill. I guess by your logic, any fighter who gets soundly beaten by his opponent doesn't deserve to be put under a microscope?

Let's not try and pretend that he's beaten a-list competiton since losing to jones.

The question is, why would anyone try to gauge anything from a 6 yr old fight. We are looking at what Woods is doing now, and he can only fight who is in front of him.

I'm saying overall it feels like a such a regression in skill and talent from what the LHW division offered six years ago.

Woods isn't exactly an ATG for sure, but he had the bollocks to go to the States and get in a ring with Jones at that stage so he deserves respect for that, and for building a career for himself after it.

I see no reason to hate on the guy, none whatsoever.

Woods is a good fighter, but he is nothing special.
He may bea able to beat Tarver though.

Let me clarify I don't hate the guy at all.. he seems cool and he was tough as a nails in the fight with Roy, but other than Hoye (exposed by diaconu) and Johnson, (whom he lost and split to), he hasn't reeally fought anyone of note.
