Best part is he got stuck into 'wake it call' on another forum about his excellent article and then complains on this forum when 'wake up call 'rightly makes a valid point.

 

Seems like Bunce has hump , He had a minge at me about a comment on another thread. Wonder if DF will respond to this .

Nothing to do with a loose tongue.
I have nothing against the people on the show...I'm not tied by professional courtesy...it was too smug, too nice and the Long Neck and Never Seen would last about 2 minutes in any pub packed with boxing people...I always work from that point-of-view. No apologies.
In gyms and pubs and changing rooms and venues I talk to people I trust about boxing.

What is ur problem with me Steve? We've spoken many times at shows and on the phone. If you don't like the show fine but why get personal with me? I know my stuff, have paid some dues (not as many as u but who has?) and I've always treated you with respect. I expect better from you mate, this is just a an ambush with no clear justification. Those asking about beef, ask dunce. We've never previously had a crossed word.

 

If you read his posts you will see he has no beef, he just gave you feedback, you want the spotlight, take the heat kid.

It's not personal and don't expect better. It's opinion and that is what this and every other boxing site is all about. It's a hard environment to thrive in. Good luck with the shows.

I'm happy to accept feedback about the shows but how is calling me 'longneck', for example, constructive criticism - am I supposed to stick my head in a trash compactor? And the suggestions that I lack credibility as a 'boxing person' are also unrelated to my show performances as well as being patently untrue - and you know this. Just a quick recap - I wasn't in the ABAs like some journos because I'm not a good enough boxer to have even had a competitive fight. But that didn't stop me training and sparring at an ABA club for three years to get a better feel for the sport. I've been a fan and avid boxing reader since age 12, been to hundreds of live events around the world and worked for the trade paper for almost four years. Why wouldn't I last 10 minutes with these 'boxing people' you describe - I don't think I do too bad.

In short, and Gasman this is for you too, I would love to hear constructive criticism of the show - I can stand plenty of heat and quite like the kitchen. But criticism aimed at my looks or character isn't really relevant and it's also immature. Moreover, Bunce has always treated me with respect in person and we have talked a couple of times for more than 10 minutes, albeit never in a pub.

Bunce's comments were completely uncalled for, not that this ever stops him. I think the lads are doing a good job and wish them well going forward.

Anyway, as a BoxNation subscriber I'm looking forward to the extended Bunce's Boxing Hour on Monday. Is it going to be a 90 minute special on James DeGale?
