Tyson was a fast starter and should do it quicker than Marciano but Cockell had heart and if he made it past 8rds Tyson may do a Mitch Green, Remember Tyson only once KO'd a man after 8rds. and that was Riblata...but heart alone would not do it, Don would hang in as long as the ref let him

That said, I figure he would last more than three rounds with Cockell (unlike he would with Ali or any prime ATG) and probably quit with his ***** absence of heart, around the sixth or seventh round, as he always did when he couldn't knock a man out in the first four, being a four-round, chinny banger with no skill or adaptability that is essentially a Listonesque yellow-bellied bully.

I'm really glad you clarified that point...I was in doubt, very, v ery confused as to your loyalties to Mike Tyson..the first sentence was so ambiguous.

I don't think there is a Tyson opponent post-Berbick that Cockell could beat on his best day. Further illumination of how horrible the heavyweight division was in the 1950's.

as much as tyson had gone downhill by 97 he would still have demolished don cockell .

Tyson in 1997 had one fight, the infamous bite fight.

I actually thought Tyson looked as good there as he had looked in years. Obviously mentally he was a mess, but it takes a Holyfield to expose that.

Tyson was moving and putting his punches together very well while it lasted, maybe not quite vintage Tyson, but a very good version - better than in his first fight with Holyfield, and in much better physical condition.


So..... he'd kill Cockell.

Maybe it lasts 1 or 2 rounds, maybe Cockell lasts 6 or 7.
For Don's sake, I'd prefer a mercifully short fight here.
