Who would you remove from the HOF if you could?

Jake LaMotta and Sugar Ray Robinson. I watched Raging Bull and they had no ****ing skills at all. How two movie characters can make it into the HOF is beyond me. What's next, are we going to put Ali from that movie Ali in there, too?

There's a special section of the HOF devoted to non-combatants. That's the place where refs, promoters, judges all go in for being excellent at their jobs and doing boxing a service.

Anyone who thinks Stallone shouldn't have a place in there isn't in their right mind. Watching the first Rocky movie got me interested in boxing when I was 11, and this was in 2001. So thirty years after he released a movie kids still want to learn to box because of it. That's a service that will stand the test of time.

 

McGuigan is gonna get a lotta mentions here and I'd have to agree. Mark Johnson.

Stallone should be in there for sure as a non participant, I don't see why people are whining about him being in there it's not like he was put in there as a boxer! There's more than just fighters that get HOF honors and Stallones movies attracted more people to boxing than nearly any boxer aside from Ali, Tyson, Louis.

 

what kind of fans are we to remove respected fighters who earned it in the ring

i know some guys arent as great as others but they are in there for a reason

 

and in turning Zab Judah into a chicken dancer he unified the WBA, WBC and IBF titles. Something that hadn't been done in the light welterweight division since the days of covered wagons.

 

Robinson deserves his place.He really hit his stride when he changed his name to Leonard in the 70's.

 

He only changed his name because he was in witness protection after being raped by his coach.

 

McGuigans in ring "accomplishments" were not the reason he made the HOF, but I dont want to get into the Bull**** politics of why he DID get in...

 

Problem is that when you first get into the ring, getting smacked in the face in real time is not as glamorous and exciting as it looked in the rocky films lol
