Sanchez by a close unanimous or majority decision.Arguello wasn't quite the man he was going to be later in his career.

Sanchez was always a FW, that was his weight, Arguello would hit his peak at SFW, he was still a very good & dangerous fighter at FW but I would take Sanchez on points at this weight.

If Sanchez could have fought at 130 & performed exactly as he did at 126 then him vs Arguello would be one of the best fights ever, it would be a toss up IMO but as things stand I think Sanchez has the edge at FW & Arguello has the bedge at 130 as we don`t know for sure how Sanchez deals with the extra poundage + Alexis being more mature than he was at FW & being naturally bigger & the harder hitter too.

Alexis he such a great career including his stint as a fw but it wasn't quite as good as sal was.

I think alexis hit his prime in the oliveira fight but found his peak as a sfw.

Sal was a great fw despite his short tenure.

Who looks better on film as a fw? Hard to say but I think sal's destruction of lopez tops any fw performance of alexis.

Hard to say how much them extra 4 pounds helped alexis but for some reason I think he has an advantage at sfw.

Has to be a close fight this and I can't easily pick a winner. Sal achieved more at the weight and looks better on film though for what it's worth so i'd have to make him the favourite. Whether he'd pull it off or not is another question.

I went against the grain and picked Arguello by decision. He had deceptive handspeed as a FW (look at his fight with Leonel Hernandez, for example) and IMO Sanchez would run into the same stylistic problems he did against Patrick Ford, but magnified.

This...I shifted towards this opinion a while ago and I reckon it's gradually cementing.

I think Arguello's physical advantages would be the gamebreaker here...between otherwise pretty evenly matched fighters.
