360 HW Rounds and Welliver has Never Been Down

Take The Test Price.....he'd rather face a wimp like Fury who always goes down. A bloke like haye who goes for the blow jab rather than the punch. Or a bloke like Chisora who would rather lick Vitali's butthole than fight him.

Welliver crushes the Entire UK! Every other month they are all done in less than a year. :deal

Plenty. All 13 of his last opponents were sanctioned by either the WBC WBO or both. 13 defenses in a row. 52 wins now at 28 years old. Was winning toughman contests before that at 16 against grown men.

For this fight, instead of Mensah, Welliver had offered 30K to Monte Barrett. Monte declined. All you can do is all you can do until the organizations force one of these HW marathon runners to fight Welliver.

As quite likely the only person here who was at the fight I'll say this. Mensah worked hard getting ready for this fight, and had a good plan. Welliver didn't, I believe he had a burst airdrum from an earlier plane flight and couldn't spar. Stupid taking the fight, and Mensah fought better than most there had ever seen. They've sparred in the past, and Chauncy was very surprised how good he was that night. That said, welliver hung tough and broke him down. Mensah got good shots on him, and Welliver would stick his chin out and taunt him. As much a mental fight as physical. Lots of action in close, very rough, but also entertaining, chauncy himself said he was sloppy early on, and couldn't find his range after not sparring, but as the rounds passed, he kept pounding away at mensah's body, and mensah slowly lost his composure.

Big 8th round last stand by Mensah saw Chauncy asking for more, and Mensah looking for a way out realising he couldn't stop Chauncy, and visibly hurting from body shots.

Over the entire fight, whenever they got tied up, the ref would call a break, and mensah was always slow to release, and would then lean on chauncy with his arms sticking out for a significant amount of time. Don't get me wrong chauncy was holding too, but he's a smart guy and knew what was ok, mensah was just plain negative the whole fight. Ref eventually took a point, mensah turned and headed for the ropes, but was convinced to stay by his corner, after a second point he was gone. He got his way out, and his supporters were vocal about corruption and all sorts of nonsense. One of them even argued with a former pro telling him he was punch drunk and that was why he couldn't see the robbery. Classy.

It was a grueling fight, and chauncy's stamina is no myth, the guy is incredibly fit, and his chin is granite. Yes he has a sloppy punch technique, but he gets the job done, and at this weight is damn entertaining. Also deceptively quick on his feet with decent head movement, even doing a bit of fat boy whitaker to mess with his opponent. He won't win the title, but who cares, new slimmer Chauncy makes fun fights, he should be on tv.

Thanks for the call Al. Welliver couldn't spar for this fight and may be lucky that Monte Barrett declined to take this fight before Mensah. He also showed up at 239 pounds which again part of not getting in his 80 rounds of sparring. With a full camp and a healthy lead up to a fight he will be much sharper and even a little less on the scales, though 239 is pretty damn good.

That's all I want for Christmas. Chauncy with a good camp and a good opponent like Jon Banks to see what is up. K2 and Banks can come see why Chauncy fills the stadiums in China.

The price love has got to stop.

goddamn, the dude isn't even that good. I admit he has a pretty good right hand, but poor defence and a non existent chin. Would get knocked out by Fury IMO

1,080 minutes of HW's punching Welliver in the pros and not 1 guy can drop him. 360 HW rounds.

Never been down in sparring and he has went hundreds of rounds with the worlds best.

The only time Welliver has ever been down in his life is when he was attacked from behind after the bell rang and walking to his corner. Dude crushed him in the base of the neck and got DQ'd. Welliver went down, and then was right back up even from that.

Neither Klitschko can dent this man either. Any power puncher out there with a half ass decent promoter should be able to sell the hell out of their power puncher vs Welliver. Price or Fury will be whipped like step children who have just pooped the bed.

Then all 3 of these fights need to be made. A heavyweight throwing lots of punches and using heart to be better than his skill, versus those 3. Sounds good to me. Holyfield would quit, barrett would be crawling on his knees after 5 or 6, and chauncy and arreola would be all smiles as long as it lasts whilst winging shots at each other. Styles make fights, and chauncy entertained the hell out of me.

Too much 'he would ko this bum' talk, why can't these guys just fight like they used to. Entertaining mismatches are still entertaining.

Stunned...never down or close to down. Solis was a case where this WBC open scoring **** is lame. The ****** ref was looking to stop ot because Solis was expected to stop a guy showing up on 10 days notice at 283 pounds. Chauncy was making him look like poop on Vitalis comeback card in front of all of the serious HW players as they were all there. They hooked a dude who was never down because Solis could not deliver. Solis did flatten Monte Barretts arse though. He was kicking Vitalis arse too until he tore his knee. Welliver gets stopped throwing a punch and protests. Later that night Sam Peter quits on the stool in 8 and gives away his title. Screw that. Welliver has never been rocked.....period!
