atlas didn't quit training because of espn commitment? it's his own ego!

    all the **** talking he's done on the klitchkos' and always claiming that they are mediocre fighters, and povetkin is bound to fight them one day. a fight which atlas already turned down in the past for povetkin. how bad would atlas look if he's training povetkin and his fighter gets koed by one of the brothers he's been talking **** about for years now. and if povetkin loses without atlas he can also say well if povetkin had me in his corner things would be very different. in the end this more about teddy atlas then it is about his committment to espn in my opinion.

    That's a no brainer. Atlas is american to the core: the very thought of a soviet fighter, i.e. Ivan Drago look alike, to beat one Rocky after another, is breaking his heart. He is not worth much as a trainer in US but in Russia his name is still known because he held the bucket in Mike Tyson's corner, so he got a job on past credentials.

    Likeable guy though. Idiot, but a likeable one.

    I kind of agree with the guy that it was over his ESPN commitment and Povetkin's people broke an oral contract. Really it means very little. I know this is sensitive to most but Atlas is a Jew with Russian(Jewish) mob connections and Povetkin's people are Jewish mobsters in Russia so they were bound to clash.

    Each will spindoctor to make themselves look correct. Or Atlas will resume training Povetkin when his ESPN commitment is done for the year. Really, nothing would suprise me.

    Atlas is overrated garbage. How can steward train like 5 different champions and commentate on every HBO fight and Atlas cant handle one guy.
