I think scoring a point for a takedown is stupid anyway. Unless it lands you in a dominate position. If you take a bjj guy down and land in guard THATS NOT a dominate position to him. He WANTS you in guard. Judges don't seem to understand the fights. They seem to have a list in front of them of things that are supposed to be scored.

Bjj guys who can successfully fight off their back vs elite wrestlers are very, very few. Maia vs Sonnen is so widely remembered because it doesn't happen often.

 

It's true. You can be as good a BJJ guy as you want, but if a top-class wrestler is on top of you and has control of your hips, then you're not doing **** except grabbing at him with your arms. And if you're only working with your arms, then you have no leverage and no strength coming from your legs or your core, and you're not really going to be up to **** all in the way of submissions.

Mediocre effort from Sonnen who should thank his lucky stars that crap takedowns and doing very little are so over rated in the UFC.

I had it 2 for Bisping. Loved the head fighting and dirty boxing he did - really listened to his corner and Chael hated every minute of it.

 

Like he did last time? Oh wait..............

God, the hate for Sonnen on here is ridiculous. He was making Silva his ***** for the whole fight until Silva got a lucky armbar.

 

With every one of Chael's post fight comments and the amount of respect he has given Bisping - I don't see how anyone can accuse him of doing any robbing - He's not a judge.
